  1. Eliminating Toyota's Double Honk

Don’t think Carista can delete that double honk. Here is Nodak’s posted summary of Carista options from last October. https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...gs-for-2025-4runner-6th-gen-screenshots.7016/
  2. Hitch Receiver Replacement

Just a follow up on your test fit… When you mounted the carrier on your 4Runner, did its security pin “track” line up ok with the hole in the receiver itself so that you could insert and secure the pin?
  3. Hitch Receiver Replacement

Brumey, I did not mean to disappear on you. I looked for my instructions for the 1Up USA Super Duty carrier that we both have. Could not find them (old age creeping in?) but went to their website and downloaded the manual. We are in agreement, but my comment probably was misleading because of...
  4. Hitch Receiver Replacement

It may depend upon which 1Up USA bike carrier you have. My Super Duty (single tray) had instructions that said to be sure that less than 3” of the hitch assembly protrudes from the receiver. (Optimal is 2-3/4” to the weld mark.) And if you are carrying an e-bike you probably don’t want to...
  5. Steering Wheel Creaking?

There is no creaking sound from my Pro’s steering wheel, but I am only at 1,000 miles so far. Hopefully your dealer can help you out as you said it will be easy to recreate the annoying sound for them.
  6. Dip stick tube corrosion

If that rust was not there before you left for Florida and now after 3 months in Florida you are seeing it, perhaps it is from the salt air (assuming you are near the Gulf or Atlantic coast). That might explain the cause. I have no idea of what to do about it. Someone in an auto parts store...
  7. 2025 4Runner TRD PRO build: Westcott lift kit, 295/70/18 Nitto Recon Grappler, color matched fender flares, Victory4x4 half rack, light bar

First color matched fenders I have seen on a Mudbath. Love it. And leaving the lip black on each works! I never would have thought of that. And 295s fitting with minor modifications shows me how they look and it is a good look. 2 Questions What brand are your marker lights in the grill? What...
  8. Hitch bike rack recommendations for 4-bikes/family?

I was curious about Quickrstuff after you mentioned it. I had never heard of them. The reviews on Reddit comparing it to 1UpUSA were pretty good. One positive that was mentioned was the security of how the carrier locks to the vehicle’s hitch receiver is better than 1UpUSA. One negative was...
  9. Hitch bike rack recommendations for 4-bikes/family?

Brumey, you are correct! Don’t know how I missed that especially since that is the carrier I actually own!! I have the Super Duty in a single tray platform. But If you buy the Super Duty in the double tray platform it comes with 2 trays. You can then purchase 2 “add-on” trays to increase your...
  10. Hitch bike rack recommendations for 4-bikes/family?

The only hitch mounted rack they carry that could handle 4 (or more!) bikes is called “The Recon”. Each “tray” can hold up to 45 lbs, so if you have an e-bike that would be a problem. https://1up-usa.com/product-category/racks/hitch-bike-racks/recon-rack/ I don’t have that carrier so I can’t...
  11. Running Boards / Rock Sliders recommendations for TRD Pro

As it pertains to Westcott Designs slider hardware, this is what comes in the box if you request hardware for a threaded hole installation. Picture shows what is needed for 1 side of the vehicle. I was surprised that per side you only use 3 of the threaded holes. (I think I counted 9 threaded...
  12. Hitch bike rack recommendations for 4-bikes/family?

Adding one more consideration for bike carriers with trays. Note that they can secure the bikes in different ways. A pair of clamps that grab both tires preserves your frame if you are concerned about scratching or just trying to limit pressure on a carbon fiber frame. Another secure method of...
  13. Newbie here! Lots of questions!

OP asked: “What is everyone actually paying for these things…?” Your cost will depend on supply. I bought a TRD Pro and they were getting snapped up (June 2025) before they left the factory in Japan. So just locating one that was not spoken for and getting it for MSRP was a victory in my mind...
  14. Retrofitting factory Trailhunter / Pro Grill and Light Bar onto lower trims

I am interested in your bold attempt because I too would love to be able to operate my light bar independently from the bright headlights. I admire your courage in attacking the inner workings of the Pro/Trailhunter light bar. Not sure how much this previous install thread (“Heretic light bar...
  15. Running Boards / Rock Sliders recommendations for TRD Pro

One more installation issue… whether or not you have threaded or unthreaded holes in the frame. Some trims do not have threaded holes, but you should be ok with a TRD Pro. Just take a look to confirm. Your installer will need to know what you’ve got (threaded/unthreaded) if they are going to...
  16. Running Boards / Rock Sliders recommendations for TRD Pro

Funny, I just finished installing my Westcott Designs sliders an hour ago! I went with Westcott because their build quality is top notch and I liked their design. Expensive, yes. But so was the truck. If you have no intention ever of heading off road I would say a slider set is not for you. Go...
  17. KC Hybrid Distribution Plate

Have them look at this picture from a previous thread (“Battery Tender external receptacle install”) as there is a jump start post under the hood in the passenger side fuse box. Forum member gmarcucio used an adjacent post in that fuse box that apparently has 12v from rear battery. MLO may be...
  18. KC Hybrid Distribution Plate

Yep, I feel the same way about electrical installs - especially with a hybrid complicated system. But if it makes you feel any better, my installation was an sPOD only (no distribution plate) and it was done on a Sprinter van (not a 4Runner). Maybe the job on a 4Runner will be simpler (cheaper!).
  19. KC Hybrid Distribution Plate

The sPOD installed in that video is not cheap either. I had an sPOD installed (also by Main Line Overland) and they spent quite a few hours on it. The labor ended up costing me more than the sPOD. I don’t know enough about the procedure to know if they were just clueless or if they were...
