Top of the rear spoiler flew off

Has anyone else had the top portion of the rear spoiler fly off? The driver side is loose and the pax side is still solid. I didn't hit anything and just noticed it missing last night. Will the warranty cover this?

No, but mine is loose. You can easily shake it without much effort.

6th-gen build quality is like night and day compared to the 5th gen. It is way lower than the 5th gen because most of the panels are aluminum, so road noise, shaking, and loose points are the issues.

With the 6th-gen 4Runner, if you have ever owned a 5th gen, you may notice that Toyota was trying to reinvent the wheel. They don't seem to know how to build vehicles with aluminum, so these are some of the problems.

My 4runner spoiler is super loose , i noticed on first day , and my trunk door does not close all the way. I have to hit it hard to close it. I went to the dealer, and they kept it for 3 days, but the solution was zero. They said they don't have another 4Runner to compare it with.

Compare the answers, and it clearly shows that it is not an alignment issue.

And yes, because of this, they added Active Noise Cancellation, and that is pretty high. I got dizzy during the first week of driving, so I turned it off.

Most American brands use aluminum too, such as Jeep, but their vehicles are still very well built. So I don't think aluminum itself is the problem; I think it is how Toyota engineered and built the 4Runner with aluminum.

There was a report by another user on here back March or so 2025 when I got mine. The top of his spoiler flew off also. Made me look at mine and sure enough the left side wouldn’t clip together all the way. I had it replaced under warranty but that’s stupid it had to happen to you!

Pretty sure the spoiler on the 5th gen was a single piece. The 6th is 2 pieces snapped together probably weighs less to help support the automatic rear trunk stuff.

And looking at it... Stuck together with two plastic clips and a lot of double-sided tape. Crappy design. I'm bringing it in on Thursday to have them look at it.

Aluminum messed up the 4Runner

I haven’t been able to find any aluminum on the 4Runner other than the hood. All other body panels are ferromagnetic
