  5. Seat Jackers - anyone installed ?

Today I installed seat jackers (seat spacers),under $20 - and I can honestly say they are one of the best comfort upgrades I’ve made to my 4Runner. They lift the front of the driver’s seat slightly, giving your legs much-needed support and creating a more natural, comfortable seating position...
  6. Bad CV axle angle

Get ready to change the needle bearing soon. From my experience, going more than 2 inches of lift in the front can cause issues. It’s your vehicle and your choice, but at that point, you really need a differential drop. In my opinion in next 6 months , 2 inches is the maximum you should go in...
  7. Trailhunter Build: Lift & Tires Are On! Westcott front preload collar lift, OME rear spring, 35x12.5x18 Baja Boss AT tires

Adding the spacer to the low side of the spring is not the same as compressing the spring. If that is what you mean, then I will take my theory back. It’s a very interesting theory, but many people are getting confused about this. When you want to get a lift from the vehicle, it is the spring...
  8. DIY Sleeping Platform / Foam Bed for the 6th Gen 4Runner – Under $40

I honestly believe Toyota has one of the worst rear-seat folding mechanisms on these new body-on-frame SUVs. The seats do not fold completely flat, and it really takes away from the overlanding and sleeping-in-the-car experience. It could have been designed much better. So I decided to make my...
  9. Trailhunter Build: Lift & Tires Are On! Westcott front preload collar lift, OME rear spring, 35x12.5x18 Baja Boss AT tires

Totally not true. What I said, I stand by it. When you compress the spring, the spring flex gets tighter, and it gives you a stiff ride. This is the rule of nature for spring theory: more spring, rubber, and metal. The second thing I can say is that it depends on what type of load the spring...
  10. Engine Cover - Why Not?

The engine orientation is different in the 4Runner and Tacoma, which is why the cover is not required. .OMG
  11. Trailhunter Build: Lift & Tires Are On! Westcott front preload collar lift, OME rear spring, 35x12.5x18 Baja Boss AT tires

Sorry, but I do not agree. I tested it myself by making these adjustments. Compressing the spring gives you more ride height, but it makes the ride comfort much harder (stiffer). This is not true, people lie on the internet. The ride gets worse; that is the truth. I have experience with this. A...

  13. Install full aux harness possible ?

i know this discussion about hybrids but I found wires in the fusebox and just pulled them , found in SR5.
  14. KO3 E load 285/70R18 Spare Tire Fit Test

My experience with BFGoodrich has been bad. In my opinion, these are some of the most popular tires with some of the poorest on-road performance. After about 15,000 miles, they also become noticeably louder.
  15. Group 27 AGM Battery Upgrade Installed

    yes less then 15VDC
  16. Group 27 AGM Battery Upgrade Installed

The 5th Gen 4runner has 530 CC (530 CCA (OEM Panasonic brand) And it's 65Ah, but in size it feels bigger. I agree, 6gen 4runner battery in size looks smaller may be because of the bigger tray underneath. The 6gen 4runner comes with 592 CCA with 70ah,which is a little higher in capacity.
  17. Group 27 AGM Battery Upgrade Installed

I was planning to add an AGM battery to run a 12V refrigerator. If you drive daily for around 30 minutes, you should be able to run the refrigerator directly from the AGM starting battery without an issue for 2 to 3 days , and which would also save space. AGM deep-cycle batteries have a good...
  18. Door Panel Scuff Protectors installed - photos / review

Totally 100% my opinion — it's just a waste of money.
  19. Audio upgrade on JBL sound system - sound deadening doors + sub

My mistake. Just for my correction and for you: I took a magnet and tested the 4Runner, and I found that only the hood is aluminum. The roof, trunk, doors, and side panels are not. But I’m still curious whether the metal sheet all around is thinner and not as strong as the 5th Gen.
