Hey guys, I recently picked up a 2025 4Runner SR5 and I'm looking to get new tires. I'm interested in having some off-road capability and the stock 245/70R17 Yokohama's obviously don't fit the bill and honestly just look pathetic. While I definitely want some good off-road capability, the reality is that this is a daily driver, so I want tires that are quiet, stable, and confident on highways. I'm considering the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascent 265/70R17 115T SL, which are supposedly very good on the road while still offering decent off-road capability. I live in Florida so I'll be dealing with lots of dirt, mud, and sand rather than any extreme rock crawling, which it sounds like the Bridgestone's should be good for. They also seem to have pretty good wet traction, which is very important during rainy Florida summers.

For my needs, it seems like these tires should do the job of offering good capability through dirt, sand, and mud while also having great on-road manners during my daily drives in rainy Florida, and of course a more aggressive look to top it off. However, I'm curious what you guys think. Is this a good choice for my needs, or is there something better out there that I should consider? Anyone have any experience with these tires, particularly off-road? Thanks!!!

I had a set of Bridgestone on my wife’s car. They were supposed to have. 70,000 mile warranty and wore out at 23000. She drives pretty easy. We took the warranty and went with Coopers. I recently put Cooper R&T on my off-road premium and love them

Will the tire size you quote safely fit on the stock 7” wheel. I have read mixed reports. Also, would the 265 rub in any place.

I have the stock SR5 but would like a bit more air volume to soak up the ruts and potholes. I am also 95% on road so good road performance is needed (quite, good wet performance, etc).

I was going to look at Michelin but cannot remember the model.

From my limited research it should fit without issue, as I’ve seen people claim they have no issues with up to 285/70r17, although that sounds kinda sketchy to me. I actually already went ahead and just ordered the Bridgestone’s this morning since I was very eager to get them installed Tuesday on my day off. I’ll update and let you know how it goes.

I’d still love to hear suggestions from others as I’m sure there’s a lot of people in a similar boat as me and I still have time to cancel my order

I would be interested in your opinion about the new size making any difference over pothole, drain covers and other road nasty’s.

My OEM tires are Bridgestone Duelers H/L 422 plus enliten. They are made in Japan.

those bridgestones suck in standing water on highway...as a daily driver, not great

ltx ms2 will go anywhere in the woods or trail you want them to...and the sidewalls
are tougher than bridgestone when scuffing rocks

I have the Dueller Ascent A/T. Did my homework before buying. A great tire. Whoever said they suck in standing water .must be talking about a different tire. The siping on these tires is amazing. You won't be sorry.

I'm also running the Cooper Discoverer R+T in 255/75 17 -- they've been really good, including rain. I've had them almost 10K miles, no issues.

I’ve always been a huge fan of the Michelin Pilot Sports on my cars.
