I am 6'1" and just wanted to know what's the true purpose of these. In my head I see someone rolling over and the seats coming off because of these. But that is just my little crazy mind 🤪
I have not personally owned these jackers but I had a tall friend that did and he had them in the passenger side. It was to me like sitting in a recliner chair. If that makes sense? if you're really tall that extra bit of reclinability probably eases your sitting stress. For me it's just added sort of an aggravation because I felt like I was leaning back all the time.

Hi.

Has anyone installed seat jackers on the 6th Gen? Both my wife and I find the seats quite uncomfortable and looking for an easy solution to our challenge. They are expensive so I would like to hear feedback from people who have installed them before purchasing.

Thanks
Off Road Premium. I am 6'2" and quite comfortable even in long trips. My wife is 5'2" and the only issue she has on long trips in the front passenger seat is that her butt begins bothering her, she says "feels like there's metal bar in the seat". After research, it looks like people with narrower hips, lower body fat over the pelvis, prior tailbone irritation, or certain sitting postures notice this much more.

We got this and it's made things much better for my wife.

Nah, you're not the only one. I thought about the seats integrity too.

But ventilated or heated seats won't work for the wife with this on lol

This is a reason I have not used pads or would consider seat covers. I have some seat pads made by Purple (the mattress company) that are nice. As they use the same hollow grid system as their mattresses they might let at least some ventilation/heat through. Not sure--I have found the 4Runner seats reasonably comfortable, so have not tried it. They are a little expensive, but if you want cheaper there are knockoffs at Amazon.

I installed the Amazon ones which were about $50 compared to the brand-name ones which were over 100. I’ve had them on over a year and they’ve been great. I had trouble getting comfortable for the first 2 to 3 months of ownership until I got these.

They just changed the angle of the seat so that elevate the thigh aspect by your knees, but does not elevate the entire seat… some of my old cars I’ve had electric components that raise this part of the seat… In the 4Runner you can raise or lower, but it’s the entire seat

I felt like the seat cushion was not much of a cushion, almost like the seat was worn out already in a brand new Pro. I felt like I was always sliding forward. And the height adjustment for the front edge of the seat cushion was fully maxed. I needed a bit more.

I thought about making something homemade, but I thought it would look kind of cheap. So I overpaid for a set of Seat Jackers and that solved the problem. Only used one on each side of the seat base’s front edge. That was all I needed.

@jameschr14 Don't you have the ORP hybrid? I have that model and can adjust the seat height as well as just the front of the seat. Same control as raising/lowering the seat, just tilt the forward part.

@jameschr14 Oh right, sorry...I checked but did not register the missing "p" in your profile :). That makes sense then.

I was originally not going to opt for the premium option either, but considering it a bit more I decided it was worth it...ventilated seats being one of the factors, as well as bigger screen. I am happy with that decision.
