Looks like rough country released their power running boards for the 6th gen. Anyone have these installed? Amp research is still dragging their feet. Which is sad considering it’s a product that reuses the same mounting points as the Tacoma… just shorter boards. Still can’t order OEM power boards allocated for the platinum and limited trims so aftermarket will have to do.

Good spot! I've been checking most manufacturers almost weekly for power running boards to become available. I am not necessarily going to pull the trigger and purchase anytime soon, but I look forward to more options becoming available.

I'd like to purchase a set, but they don't have pictures of what they look like on the 4Runner. Guessing nobody does at this point since they are new? Just wondering if they were designed for the 4Runner, or just a bolt on generic power step?

Interesting to see this. Ill have to see how they perform after a full winter.

I ran a similar system on another truck 10 years ago and had to take them off because snow slush would spray up on them while driving and then freeze, locking the running boards in and sending fault codes every time i stopped.

I do not have any experience with power running boards (outside of a rental once), but I also have the winter concerns. It is understanding that some models have gotten better over the years in handling snow/ice conditions with design changes and by adding additional motors (2 per side instead of one per side).

Hopefully other options start to surface as I would really like to see them on a 6th gen before making any type of decision.

Curious what you mean as they have a ton of pictures on the link provided with them on a 4Runner.

Are you referring to 3rd party options or the OEM's that are only available and work with the limited & platinum 6th gen models. There's a difference!
