I didn't say they were. And I know very well the different trim levels. You are very defensive to different points of view. But for the $14,000 difference between a TRD Off Road premium and a Trail Hunter I know I can have a much better real off road machine with all the creature trim I need.I like TH, Pro's etc. I have had 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th gens. Not new to the 4Runner.
You’re not gonna achieve that on the suspension that comes on that trim.
If you don’t want to spend Pro or TrailHunter money don’t. But don’t bash others if they choose to do so.

I'm not bashing at all. Just alternatives. I love all the 4runners. Almost every vehicle I have owned eventually gets modified, especially all the motorcycles I have owned and raced. Very often it will be better to not buy the full blown of anything if you really intend to do some serious adventures, whether that is off roading, rock crawling, dirt biking, road racing etc. Save the money and use it do purpose built machines. Saying that I still might buy a Pro or TH.
Been watching some of this guys videos lately.

The only bashing in this thread is coming from a couple of Trailhunter owners.

believe they’re out there in AZ. You can get it with or without the “hoop”.
Sweet! Thanks!!! Another AZ shop to check out. With Wescott Designs also in AZ it is making my wallet ache with abuse.

I understand your pain 😂! Have Westcott’s preload collar kit and rock sliders. It’s probably a good thing I’m a few hours away.

They already did my lift kit, 17" wheels & 35" tires, rear swing spare tire hitch carrier, and ladder. Next up is the other half of the swing out hitch carrier for jerry cans and floor jack, roof rack (that was supposed to be first), and rock sliders.

And that's just half of the things I have left to add.

Very Nice! I went 17” on the wheels as well - so many more options for tires IMO. Did 285/75/17 + 25 and they tuck well at articulation, give me a lot more rubber when airing down and I can deflate the spare slightly and it fits under the truck. Put Westcott’s sliders on and I love them. Really well made - they know how to drop dimes on those welds. I need the rack as well and I’m thinking the Lo-Pro.

A trail hunter isnt special. Any old parts cannon will do. No need to be rude.
People that say that are just jealous because they can't afford it. Sure you can put low quality junk and throw parts at it. Good luck with that.

I would have bought the Trailhunter or the TRD Pro if they came in a non-hybrid version. It was a crime that Toyota decided not to allow a gas version.

That extra power is so worth it. I can now keep the speed limit on an 8% grade pulling a 5,000 lb trailer in the mountains of Colorado. The torque you get with the hybrid is 465 foot lb. Also, Toyota's hybrid models are more reliable than their gas only engines, that's why every single one of their cars has gone hybrid. Excellent reliability. I did it for the power and an out of the box off roader I don't have to build. I've built four vehicles up over the years, don't want to do that anymore. It's much more capable than any of my previous 4Runners in every way. Definitely more capable than my Jeeps as well.
