Hello everyone!

I’m currently running a TikTok account under the username “Yotamerchant” where I turn my 2025 4Runner SR5 w PT4WD into the closest thing possible to the Trailhunter (obviously excluding the things like hybrid and lockers that aren’t as attainable). So far I’ve got the grille, the wheels, bronze overlays, upgraded air intake and hood struts. I think I want to try to install heated seats, a front camera, and find some headlights. Any ideas of more upgrades that bridge the gap between the Trailhunter and the SR5? Thank you!!!!

Bro right here i got you, install the snorkel and make the TH owners cringe even more. Should be same parts as Tacoma except for the fender. For all of the parts below, the actual parts you order may have different numbers because toyota keeps superseding part numbers. If youre really unsure though you probably can also go to your dealership and confirm the right parts:

Looks like the TH fender with snorkel cutout for 4Runner is 53811-35450. You'll need to get it painted.

PTR03-35242-AH air cleaner support (holds snorkel to A-pillar. Has integrated magnets, peel and stick ppf to protect the A-pillar, and peel and stick double sided tape to also stick it to the ppf), about 100 USD. Just gotta attach the bracket to the snorkel inlet tube, lift up the windshield weather stripping trim, and then lay the bracket onto the pillar carefully.

You'll need an air intake that accepts the snorkel like banks or sxth. If you want the pro/TH intake you'll need to also scale your MAF to avoid a check engine light:

PTR03-35241-AA Filter conical oiled

PTR03-35241-AB red hose (red EPDM rubber); the black hose looks like it may be PTR03-35250-AM; red hose might be superseded by PTR03-35240-AA according to my search just now

PTR03-35241-AC airfilter lid (black plastic part that holds hose to filter housing and MAF)

PTR03-35241-AD filter housing (black filter housing with red TRD on it, comes with grommets); I am having trouble finding the trailhunter filter housing with the symbol on it :/

PTR03-35241-AE coupling kit (red rubber fender plug and red rubber piece to connect to the grill air scoop; fits tight to housing)

Need upper screw hose clamp for air hose #2 (different size at MAF housing from stock): 96111-10900
Lower clamp same as stock: 96111-10830

If needed:
MAF Screw (rose gold color self tapping) need 2 each 90099-00330

MAF Sensor 22204-24010

Plastic Pop Clips for air scoop need 4 each 90467-07217

Works but is tight: TRD Hardware kit with intake housing spring clips and one rubber grommet that may not work for anything (says for 2012 FJ, TACOMA, ETC. BUT STILL WORKS). Comes with 4 spring clips to hold air filter lid to the housing and snaps onto lid nicely
PTR03-35090-AE

Rubber Grommets 17769-25030 to sit intake on metal ball studs 17765-25010 if needed for engine bay

I figured it they were tightly installed in those indents it wouldn't look as goofy as a bar installed mid-roof. Technically, i don't need a ligthbar up there anyway but I am not sure of the purpose of the indented flat spots.
Like a 2015 Nissan Xterra but even that rack was forward positioned for OEM lighting.

Please ARB suspension aren’t shitty neither please stop right there.
I didn't say they were. And I know very well the different trim levels. You are very defensive to different points of view. But for the $14,000 difference between a TRD Off Road premium and a Trail Hunter I know I can have a much better real off road machine with all the creature trim I need.I like TH, Pro's etc. I have had 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th gens. Not new to the 4Runner.

snorkel is actually my biggest qualm with TH so this is not on the list. mudflaps ive just never seen point of since they come off so easily.

Lower grille definitely and ill upgrade fog lights, and headlights all at once while bumper is off. tow hooks just got added to list, thank you! temporarily ive blacked out stock lights but yes ill also do tailights at some point
Ah I didnt even see this one, pls ignore my previous comment

You can save a lot of money and build a better truck if you do it right.
Yeah but changing out the differentials, adding a sway bar disconnect, Plus you can't gain the difference in horsepower and torque. I've built up 4Runners and Jeeps before, this one out of the box is perfect, don't need to really do anything but drive. And I can keep the factory warranty of which I purchased 8 years 100,000 mi.

i am so sorry i appreciate the effort you put in the last comment
No worries, it was just copy and paste from my own notes for my build. Really only wrote the first paragraph and fixed a couple typos throughout.

The snorkel has been one of my favorite mods but I do understand how polarizing it is for owners of the new Tacoma/4Runners.

Have fun on the rest of the build!

I thought on the TRD Off Road you can get the disconnect. It already has the locking diff. Just need to add a locking front diff for serious stuff. Also if you want the extra electric HP and Torque you could start with the TRD Off Road Max. I'm not buying yet as my 21 is a well sorted machine and I know how long it will last. I'm looking at 1-2 years away from a 6th gen after a lot more longevity data comes in.

Couple of real gatekeepers around here. Get over yourselves.

@YotaMerchant check my threads, adding the factory light bar to the heritage grill is doable for quite a bit cheaper than most good aftermarket light bars...If you're willing to crack open the factory light and do a little wiring.
