Oh u forgot to put that dollar sign on the time u r a greas monkey on every weekend while your kids and so on missing u at their football practice. This is so wrong is so many way. There are so many things set the TH different from low end and mid trim.
hey calvin, im not trying to do anything crazy, just the fun stuff. I am young and enjoy doing upgrades so the time spent isnt an issue for me! this isnt a set "im going to replicate the trailhunter exactly" its just a fun series where i upgrade my vehicle and happened to love the bronze. there will be no trailhunter leather seats and im not switching any logos! just trying to show an sr5 can be modded to be better than stock for cheap and if you dont want to get a higher trim you dont have to!

Yes it is possible but will require taking the rack off and drilling. Also what type of light bars, curve or modular. It is possible. Let me assure you one thing there is no one will mistake the REAL TH for a wanna to be.

That’s not the stock ARB rack in that video….

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I did post in another thread, this forum seems to be taking a turn towards the Reddit life. Maybe we can either chime in and be supportive, or curious, but not judgmental on what others want to do with their money and vehicles? Or, just not comment at all and move on? I really enjoy it here finding folks that are passionate about this vehicle and doing fun and crazy things with and to them. I'd like to keep it that way. My 2 cents.

I had the luxury to see how they build the TH especially my TH at the plan and let me assure you one thing they build 9 trims for a reason.

So the money difference from say a TRD off road to a Trail could buy you a better suspension, rims, tires, air compressor, lights, racks etc. I don't get the missing out on football practice analogy, you could simply schedule your time appropriately. A lot of guys enjoy doing projects like this, many with their sons/daughter like myself. You can definitely build a much better off road truck than a stock Trail Hunter with the cost difference. If someone is just looking for all the "glitter and not the bite" of true off road you can save even more money. Pretty broad strokes you paint with.

Well obviously you don’t have the luxury to see how they build these trim like I do. So go ahead and build it.

and the lightbar is in the middle of the roof ?!? since it's a 3/4 .... have to see that!
Yeah, I am curious how that will look and work. There are the 2 indents that look like something should be mounted in but no predrilled holes. I would think maybe 2 low profile pods but not a lightbar so I am open to ideas!

won't solve the problem of the pods being centered on the roof so obscuring the beam projection ... maybe if you mount elevated pods higher on the rack instead of a low/flat lightbar, but then how will that look - keystone cops ???? Investment in a full length rack gives all options for any configuration and is the solution to the 3/4 ARB lighting issue imho.... but I live under a "rock" so how would I know, lol

I figured it they were tightly installed in those indents it wouldn't look as goofy as a bar installed mid-roof. Technically, i don't need a ligthbar up there anyway but I am not sure of the purpose of the indented flat spots.

Right there. U just answered your own question. Hello “elevated”, drill holes and using rivet nuts. Oh jeez.
