You need to get rid off all that excess from the wiring harness.
Your 4runner provides the switch, fuse, and relay.
I have 2 wires from my light bar go to the 2 wires from the aux 1 pigtail.
Then I ran the backlight wire to an ignition switched fuse in the fuse box.
I believe you could also use the aux 5 white wire on the pigtail for that.

I wish i was electrical savy. Even though it’s only a few colored wires, i’m too scared to take the harness apart and re wire. Seems simple, but slight complicated. I’d be comfortable if there was a video with the same harness and pigtails I have, so I could just follow along. But it’s usually slightly different vehicle/harness or edit the parts i need to see lol.

This might sound like a dumb question, but did you call the company that manufactures the lights, tell them your situation and see if they can give you an answer on how to wire it properly for your needs?

Yea I did, they responded as is

“ Hello,
You can use custom wire to connect it, but we do recommend using the wire harness that way the main power comes from the wire harness instead of your aux switch, your aux switch would then just act as an activation switch instead allowing the main power to still go through our harness.”

So i just kept the wire they way it came.

Sorry random question also, i just noticed that if you install a light bar on top, the only way to route the wire is on the side of the windshield correct? I just noticed it recently on someones install, and then i started trying to see other peoples car, and I could kind of notice it being router on the side of their windshields, with black plastic, but i can never get a good image or video to see if it really is the wire.

I have multiple lights on top, as well as a GSMR antenna cable. I ran the thicker wires inside that natural channel on the windshield and also used this (see link). All my were spliced together using insulated wire.

Okay so pretty much everyone is running the wires on the side of their windshields in some sort of black channel. I just never noticed it in pictures until I saw someone wire it in a video.

That response proves that they did not spend a minute researching Toyotas documentation before throwing out a generic answer.
Your vehicles user manual clearly states each aux switch's max amp draw. It is based on the fuse and relay already provided. It is ridiculous to I troduce a second relay circuit.
You only need 2 wires to connect a light to the factory harness and you would be done. Borrow those wires from their harness to keep the sheathing.
Or go to an offroad shop with the parts and tour user manual pointing out the page about the aux switches and pay the labor.

I was kind of thinking the same thing, that the pre wired aux should already be my source of power and has its own relay/fuse to it, so why need an additional one. But i’ll wait til my buddy becomes free to help me out, so I can learn for myself. Enjoying the process. Thanks everyone in here for not bashing on me.

I saw a video can't remember who put it out but on the drivers side the black trim has a channel built into it that could fit a wire and it leads all the way into the engine bay.

That's how I ran the wire for my light bar.
