Platinum Trim owners - how are you feeling about the "Dark Navy" (blue) trim exclusive color?

Admin: I didn't see a great location to plant this thread other than "general" but I am prepared to be scolded and have the thread moved as needed.

My fellow Platinum trim folks. How do we like the blue (Dark Navy) interior? I was hoping it would grow on me. I am learning to ignore it, but it's not growing on me at all.

I have the black paint. When the sun is out and it's nice and bright, I like my car less than I do on a cloudy day where my interior color is is easily confused for grey.

I've thought about painting the calipers in that same blue-grey color, or some other idea in this space, so it gets tied in better, but they are already grey so I'm not sure it would help all that much.

I can live with it, but why buy a 4runner if you aren't going to do something to make it your own, right? I've only owned the car for a few weeks, so maybe something else will come up that's easier to deal with.

Not many Platinum trim specifics posts around to glob onto, so I am posting here as I am curious what other Platinum owners think about the"exclusive" color and if they have done anything to make it "better."

Best color interior I've ever had of all the cars I have owned. Wish the carpet can match the same color too, but that's asking too much for a Toyota.

If you don't like it, there are company that make seat covers, however keep in mind the cover will damage your original seat (especially the leather) over time, not so much of a problem for fabric seats.

What color is your paint? I think the problem for me is Black with Blue don't look that great to me, but a lighter color or Heritage Blue might work better.

I was initially very hesitant and iffy about the navy, but it's actually grown on me quite a bit so my surprise. Mine is heritage blue which in my opinion looks great with the interior.

The interior color was the #1 issue I had leading up to buying mine (Black)...I had never seen a Platinum in person, saw tons of pictures but I was afraid i was going to hate it in person. All my cars have always been black on black and i would have a loved a black interior with the orange stitching. First thing I did when mine arrived and I saw it, was go up and open the door to see the interior and honestly, I loved it! In pictures I feel like it comes across as too blue, in person and depending on the light it can look grey or black. Everyone that has been in mine comments on how nice the color is and honestly has become one of my favorite things about this truck.

Like the idea of matching the calipers to it!

meh, i forgot they were bluish until i saw this thread. i mean its about as noticeable as our 23 tundra ambient interior blue lighting. dont notice it 80-90% of the time anyway.

Little jealous of you with Heritage Blue and Windchill Pearl. I bet those combos work well with the blue. Black was just what was available to me. It's a really sharp car in black with those lines. Looks aggressive. I love it by itself. When I open the doors, it goes from mean looking to Willy Wonka when out in the sun.

Maybe I'm on the Island of wrong. It occurred to me that I've never had anything other than black or dark grey-ish interior colors. I'll give it more time and keep looking for ideas to tie the blue in better.

I do love the car, and I don't dislike the blue interior enough to do anything about it other than this make thread to see if I am on this island alone (and it sounds like I could very well be.)

really need to get new pics during the day and night time. with the sun hitting the blue it changes color but i think its the phone camera changing the hue (as can be seen in the 2nd pic)

Mine is Wind Chill Pearl as well. A nice colour combination. Lots of compliments on the interior colour.
