So, this post is for the benefit of the TRD Pro owners out there, but you'll have to believe my words as the pictures don't really show what it truly looks like. I haven't spent any time thinking about my fog lights until @papadop88 did a video of him putting a yellow tint on his fog lights. I watched the video (thanks @papadop88 for your content), but didn't really like how the yellow was different from the amber DRL's. But, it got me thinking that I thought it would be a good look if the fog lights were amber and matched the amber DRL's. Papadop88 let me know that Lamin-X does have amber fog light covers for the 4Runner. They were inexpensive (like $15), so I ordered them. Here are the videos showing the install of the VViViD Air Tint film I used to wrap my Rigid fog lights to selective yellow, and the follow up video showing the beam at night. I love selective yellow as I've always run that lens on my Baja Designs lights.
Wrap job took about 20-25 mins. Pretty easy install using this film.
My OCD though is creepin into my thoughts about the mismatch of the amber DRLs and Raptor lights and the selective yellow fog lights now...may pull them the off...may not. We'll see.
I put them on yesterday. Here's my thoughts. I do like them and I'm going to keep them on for now. They are amber, but they are not a perfect match. The fog lights, with the amber tint, are a lighter shade of amber than the DRL's. The DRL's are darker. I still like them and are going to keep them on, but they are two different shades of amber.
Here's where you are just going to have to trust me. I took a few pictures to post and in the pictures the fog lights look a lot more yellow than what they really are in real life. In real life they DO look amber, but are a lighter shade of amber than the DRL's. In the pictures they look more yellow than they are in real life. My phone camera did not do a good job capturing what they really look like, but I thought I'd make this post anyways in case anyone is interested. It's a cheap mod that you can easily take off if you don't like it and it's inexpensive.
