I’ve been trying to diagnose a weird noise that has started happening on my ORP Hybrid. Around 1500 RPM I’ll get this weird flub/fluttery/vibe noise; started noticing it the last few times I’ve driven it and especially since it’s gotten colder in the Midwest. It seems to be coming from the front drivers side.

I’m uploading a couple audio clip examples.

I looked under and at all the components in the wheel wells, everything is secure, the only thing that wiggles and is suspect is the splash guard on the interior of the wheel well, on the drivers side. You can kinda flick it and it will make a similar sound.

Anyone experience this before? Worth a visit to the dealership? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We've got the same vehicle and haven't experienced in 4400 miles. Did you look at the mirror cap, front fender flares as I've read some have had them come loose, or wheel liner which you've said looks fine.

Definitely interesting. The fact its specifically at a RPM and not a speed tells me its something that is touching or in contact with the engine.

maybe pop the hood and start feeling the box's and plastics in the engine bay. Anything that would feel reverberating from the engine could be loose.

as it gets colder the plastics will shrink a bit and may become loose in some anchor areas.

if you have access to a heated garage, try parking your truck and letting it get warm then go out and try again to see if the sound is still there.

if the sound is gone after allowing the truck to sot in a warm garage, i would link the noise to plastic compression due to cold weather and begin chasing the issue from there.

good luck with the dealer, when it comes to sound diagnostics, they seem to always claim its something catastrophic like a new transmission or a faulty piston ring when in reality its just some ice buildup on a break calipre.

i would do my own experiments first if i were you before letting the dealer toy with it.
