Looks great! Do they provide protection like rock sliders would?
Thank you. I honestly don't know the answer to your question. I think they're more for looks and getting in and out of your 4Runner. I doubt they would provide much true protection like rock sliders would. Probably better than nothing and definitely better than the predator steps, though.

true sliders will usually mount to the frame (preferable welded) and have more mounting points than a typical running board of 3 or 4 bolts.

sliders are designed to hold the full weight of vehicle on them vs a aluminum running board.

Just installed a Black Friday purchase - OEM black cast aluminum running boards. I love the look, especially on an Underground 4Runner. They aren't as fancy as @Everybodyduck automatic running boards, but I'm excited about them. New car honeymoon is still going strong!

I had a 2012 Trail with the running boards, no sedan could ever ding a door. Only another SUV or pickup truck could do that and those owners must be more respectful with their doors because I never got dinged when parked next to one. Last May, I moved up to a 2025 TRD-Pro, put on the stock running boards and look forward to the same; no fear parking.
Because these running boards are so low profile, I’m wondering if they will offer the same protection.

🤞 I am hoping they do

Question - Do they bolt up to the body or frame? I just ordered them and currently have the standard OEM running boards. Wondering if they bolt up the same as the standard or the frame like the Trail Hunter Rock Sliders
Appreciate any info
