Hello all,

Just picked up a new 2026 ORP this week. Being tall, I was happy to find one without a moonroof to comfortably fit in terms of headroom. Unfortunately, I've taken a few longer drives lately ~15 mins and have noticed my feet are doing numb, specifically the top of my feet after about 10-15 mins, so was not apparent during the test drive. The front of the seat is as high as it will go, and the back is as low as it will go.

  • Has anyone else had this issue? If so, has it resolved and/or did you have to make any modifications?
  • I've seen a recommendation for Seat Jackers by Desert Does It which may help by raising the front of the seat a bit higher, so thinking about trying those.

In general, just hoping I can resolve this and didn't make a mistake!

could try seat jackers to raise the seat base higher

I am no doctor, but isn't the front being as high, and the back being as low, your issue? I am 6'6" and don't have this problem. I would think having that great of a bend in your leg could be limiting blood flow down to your feet. Wouldn't you want that even, if not a slight bend downward. Could also try moving the seat position back to be able to stretch your leg out more.

I'm with OP. I need the under-thigh support or my knees and/or back start to kill me. I'm only 5'11", and these seats are on the edge for me. Any shorter or less configurable and I'd hate them. I almost went Land Cruiser just for the thigh support extension. If my legs were any longer, I'd either be in something else, or I'd be in this same boat looking at seat jacker bandaids.

My Tundra's seats are pretty mobile, but most importantly, they extend all the way to the backs of my knees. Full support. Some of the best seats I've ever had in a vehicle. One of the reasons I've had it for 13 years.

Since we're on a related subject, I also want to say...The back seats in the 4Runner and the Landcruiser are flat and awful.

I recommend the seat jackets. Made a big difference for me

Apparently "H Point" might be the issue - difference in height between hip and feet. With body on frame, H Point is lower, and with long legs, knees have to be higher, which means all pressure goes to sit bones instead of spreading across thighs which then compressing nerves, etc. If feet are lower relative to hip, pressure is spread out. So this wasn't in issue in the Jeep GC since feet can go a bit lower in unibody. Seat is pushed back as far as comfortable with wheel reach (also all the way back).

I will try the seat jackers and see if that helps. My knees are already unable to go under the steering wheel so hoping this doesn't make it too difficult to get into the seat!

Being tall is fun. Not really. Let us know how it goes.

I would suggest lowering the front of the seat. Until I had back surgery six weeks ago, fusion on L4 L5, I’ve had back and leg issues for many years. I tried the seat high in the front and low in the back and found that was cutting off my circulation to my feet some. Might be worth a try. But then, I’m only 5-8.

On another note, the 10 or 15 years I’ve dealt with sciatica, burning, numbness, needles in the leg thing, the back surgery worked perfectly. Something for you youngsters to keep in mind when you get older. If the doctor says it’s time for surgery, just do it. I put it off for a few years and I’m kicking myself in the ass for waiting so long. if you really have a defective back, all of the physical therapy, stretching, strengthening, etc., in the world is not going to fix it. Might help temporarily, but that’s about it.

It’s funny how some people find the seats comfortable and others have issues. I’m 6’6’” and I haven’t had any issues in the 10k miles I’ve had my 6th gen- but I had issues with my 5th gen 🤷🏻

Agreed. I am hoping it is just user error. Felt great on test drive.

I'm 6-5 and have taken my ORP on two long trips (5 hours each way) in the three months I've owned the vehicle and have had no problems. I do have it sitting all the way back, and and pretty low, so maybe the height of your legs is an issue? I'm no doctor. But it's pretty comfortable to me.

I would think having the front of the seat a bit lower would be helpful so it does not cut off circulation to the lower leg because of the pressure on the back of the thigh. That said, you might also try a pad such as the ones made by Purple (the mattress company):

https://purple.com/seat-cushions/office-chair

they have other options as well, both thicker (probably do not want that one) and thinner/smaller). You can also get similar, much less expensive options on Amazon (although probably not as good/long lasting). I have some of the Purple brand (including the back support one) that I used in my old Sienna that were great. They last--I used it probably for at least a couple of years before I retired the Sienna (replaced with my 4Runner) and they look and work like new.

I have the big, thick on as well I use on my bus (skoolie). The bus seat is actually pretty comfortable, but the Purple pad adds a nice squishy layer that improves it even more.
