I just tested my rear speakers and sub. You cant hear the sub unless its a very low frequency bass. But when you do hear the bass it is noticable. I think it is designed this way unlike aftermarket subs.

I seriously doubt it. Humans don't typically hear 20 hz and lower frequencies. Would not make sense to low pass filter it that way. Toyota & JBL should also know that a majority of people want to hear & feel the subwoofer. If how mine is playing is normal for the system then paying extra for it is a total rip off. I just remember that it was playing impressively enough when I bought it & drove it home 5 hours & now at some point there's no bass in the rear. IDKi wonder if its tuned to only pass 20hz and lower?
i am guessing most people are use to having a 40hz pass where the bass is more punchy?
Factory is not gonna make a system that “hits”. People complain about rattles as it is.I seriously doubt it. Humans don't typically hear 20 hz and lower frequencies. IDKbut at least I'm not the only one seemingly having an issue with this.
i beg to differ, my 2014 4R jbl still rocked pretty hard if i turned it up to around 30-35 volumeFactory is not gonna make a system that “hits”. People complain about rattles as it is.
I think it would be reasonable to have the rear door speakers at 60-80 hz & above with the subwoofer at 60-80 hz & below to match in order to not have a gap in frequencies. The subwoofer is dedicated to low end frequencies but it should definitely be heard & even punchy to a certain extent. I mean I'm not expecting aftermarket audiophile performance but something that matches the front speakers at least.i wonder if its tuned to only pass 20hz and lower?

Yeah I'm not expecting it to "hit" but it should be "punchy" with a JBL label on it. JBL is widely known to provide punchy bass. My current problem does neither & in fact is barely audible in the rear speakers.Factory is not gonna make a system that “hits”. People complain about rattles as it is.
Thank you for posting & letting us know.I have the same problem with my 2025 ORP.
Our 2022 RAV4 JBL system puts out rear sound equal to the front and the subwoofer has a lot of bass as it should.
Go drive a Raptor with the B&O setup. For a factory system, it slaps hard.Factory is not gonna make a system that “hits”. People complain about rattles as it is.
To be honest I'm not sure because I haven't literally sat in the back seat to listen. I've just opened the rear doors & the lift gate, gotten close to the speakers & listened to know if those speakers were sounding the same as the front speakers. But if the bass is non-existent in the rear speakers then something has to be wrong especially when some people have commented here that they hear bass in their rear speakers. But does it sound exactly the same if you’re sitting in the rear seat vs the front seat?
Sit in the back and turn on the volume up. Who knows what kind of weird engineering they do to make the audio do what it does. But I 100 percent can’t hardly hear it playing anything at all with my face up to the sub and the rear hatch speakers sound bleh but when I sat in the back it sounded fine and the base wasn’t that bad see how it sounds for you.To be honest I'm not sure because I haven't literally sat in the back seat to listen. It doesn't make sense to have speakers that don't play audible bass in the rear especially when there is a subwoofer. Something has to be wrong IMO.
Will do. I'll report back when I'm able to.Sit in the back and turn on the volume up. Who knows what kind of weird engineering they do to make the audio do what it does.
