Curious if anyone has watched the Video?

There's really no point of switching... only for the looks! All CAI performs & produce similar HP/Torque numbers.I just watched it and now I'm considering switching to the Banks CAI over my SXTH element. I love how informative the video was in showing the comparisons with the others. Data is everything!
For me, the thing is, I also have the SXTH turbo inlet, oil catch can and charge pipes which I've yet to install, so I want to make sure the combination won't negatively affect performance or what ever else.
I would say that they made the video to show the data and, yes, it's probably not selling as well as others because of the price. They're spending time & money on making that video means their CAI isn't selling very well![]()
So, in ypur opinion, adding aftermarket CAI wouldn't make a difference in performance along with a tune? There's really no point of switching... only for the looks! All CAI performs & produce similar HP/Torque numbers.
You really need a tune (like OTT) to feel & see the real gains!
Banks does a lot more engineering aThey're spending time & money on making that video means their CAI isn't selling very well![]()
Banks sells a ton of products. If you want a diesel to run efficiently with more power and better economy, they're one of the go to products. They started developing products for the Toyota 4 cylinder Turbo platform when the new Tacoma was released. Considering 6th Element's Turbo Inlet debacle and the design of their CAI, they obviously don't do the RD they should considering the landscape they're competing in. I'm not sure if it's me, but you often seem to have quirky replies to things I'm not sure you understand, or maybe you speak before putting thought to your replies. Do a little research on Banks, maybe their products have a bit more value than you think. I didn't start this thread to sell products for Banks. I also have a CAI from 6th Element that I never installed on my LandCruiser because I had issue with their plumbing and magnetic lid after unboxing, comparing and studying the stock intake. It looks cool but only offered a dent in my wallet. They say you can hear the turbo with their box for what that's worth. I'm not looking to get in a pissing contest, just sayingThey're spending time & money on making that video means their CAI isn't selling very well![]()
I heard a bit about some concerns over the SXTH turbo inlet but wasn't aware that it's confirmed as a bad add-on.Banks does a lot more engineering a

If you look at their numbers, it seems there are gains with installing a CAI, By doing this along with a reputable tune and boost tubes and an upgraded intercooler should make a considerable difference. I wonder how much research 6th Element did with their upgraded intercooler. There's a lot of science in turbo engines. Considering our platforms are so new, I think I would wait and see what lands sometime in the near future. So, in ypur opinion, adding aftermarket CAI wouldn't make a difference in performance along with a tune?
I will be getting a tune, but I feel like, given the existing info out there on CAI's over the stock, only help to increase performance.
Search tab here and on the LandCruiser forums is your friendI heard a bit about some concerns over the SXTH turbo inlet but wasn't aware that it's confirmed as a bad add-on.
Do you have more info on the inlet?
Appreciate it.
yeah saw it about 5 mins after it dropped. he is a fucking legend in our industry so try to watch all his vids even all his diesel shit even though im not really a diesel guy other than some race truck stuff.Curious if anyone has watched the Video?
Their tune seems inexpensive. Does anyone have experience with it?I am starting to see a trend with the items that Sxth is putting out. The only product that I have from them is the turbo inlet which I just received the new teqsport inlet this morning. I will be changing that out as I feel they are rushed. As long as their is no check engine light they feel it’s gtg. I would Like to see Sxth respond to banks video or change the product that is currently out on the market. To reassure customers about the product they have bought. This video is just another gut punch to them especially the part about the magnetic plastic splintering and letting hot air through the top of the intake.
I watched it. Gail confirmed I made a good choice going with the Banks Ram-Air intake. Boost tubes too.Curious if anyone has watched the Video?
Nice setup man. Do you leave the cover on or off? Is there a good amount of the turbo sound?I watched it. Gail confirmed I made a good choice going with the Banks Ram-Air intake. Boost tubes too.
