How deep are the under floor wells? Enough for jumper cables, or some spare parts, or the remote unit of a ham radio?

I pulled up the floor panel, per Vincenzo's great recommendation. Plenty of room to store my emergency Sven saw and my jumper cables (folded neatly).

What did you do to get the floor up? I think that space was designed for the 3rd row seats.

I loosened the two 10-mm bolts securing the hold-down latch to the floor , them pulled up on the rear of the floor panel to release the three clips on the back edge of the panel. There is a space 3 or so inches deep under the floor panel.

Probably could put some sound insulation in there to see if that helps with the hissing sound , I wonder if the higher trims already have it ?

We are hoping to have our solution for the 6th Gen available soon. Here's an early prototype image. The production version will have access doors for the storage area under the platform, and possibly some mounting solutions for aux batteries or compressors under the floor.

Does seem objectively dumb but stay with me… The flatter floor would be so much nicer for me and easier for my two dogs too, at least I’m guessing it would. They’re older and not appreciating the seat height difference in the back. The height to jump in isn’t the issue but they haven’t figured out what to do with the mismatched levels. When I have them in the just cargo area they complain the whole time since that’s not what they’re used to.

I thought the hybrids had a few storage compartmented though, no? I don’t have an issue with needing more storage or carrying space for large items, more so would love some options for smaller gear and things.

I built this for my two labs. 2x4’s, 1/2 maple plywood 3” memory foam and carpeting all cost me $100 to do. Here is the underside of the platform

This is a great thread. I am going to remove that big square floor panel and just hinge it up by the seat. Maybe screw on a strap near the rear bumper to easily lift it after I remove the connectors. I will put some rubber liners on the metal floor and have some shallow storage for stuff I rarely use, jumper cables, etc

Here is what I did.
I replaced the tie down with a 3D printed insert. I then replaced the 3 clips on the board with some Velcro. It is nice to access this space. Thanks for creating this thread. I can keep a small socket set, pull strap, and jumper cables in there.

This is Amazing! Can I bother you for the file too? We need to start a 3D print thread. We had one on the Bronco forum that wasn’t half bad.

Here are the stl files.
I have included two files for the bracket. One with a simple hole and the other with a slot. The screw is okay if you print it horizontally. You may have to chase the threads with a die depending on your printer setup.

If you don't trust the screw, source one on amazon or get a wing-bolt and use the bracket with the hole.

How much space is under there? Would be an interesting place to put some audio amplifiers.
