25 TRD ORP.. Background of having a fourth gen with very minor issues mostly wear and tear, and a fifth gen with absolutely no issues and the epitome of Simplicity with only power windows and a rear backup camera.
I was very skeptical as I am in general because I purchased a brand new Mercedes that was a lemon and I had to have corporate by it back.
I had never experienced electrical issues in my life on any car like it was on the Mercedes. It was typical of a parasitic virus running through the entire system that was never fixed.
But having a 24 Toyota Rav4 Limited with the software that is almost identical I took a chance and could not be happier so far. But I only have clocked 300 + hundred miles.
Knock on wood, I have not seen anything quirky or odd other than just learning the features of all the cameras. The shifting features from two-wheel drive to four-wheel high, and learning how to shift to four-wheel low was pretty much seamless and very responsive.
Also the crawl mode is spectacular. And the multi-terrain feature is also very good.
Every chance I get to test these features I do. I am constantly looking for gravel, soft dirt you name it.
I pulled into this construction site the other day just to crawl around in some irregularity surfaces. Construction folks were looking at me like what's this nut job doing.!
So this is my third Forerunner and I am at this point very happy. MPG seems to steadily be increasing as it is breaking in. As soon as Bilstein releases their leveling kit I will definitely change out.
I personally feel the front Springs and compression and rebound are weak even though it's a TRD off road.
You only live once in this lifetime so go for it.
But that's just my two cents.
