The Tacomas and the 4Runners all do it and it’s more noticeable on the hoods with the scoop and It’s really not that bad.
Nothing to worry about just watch the road instead of your hood and you’ll be fine. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The 5th gen hood did the same but no one seemed to care as much as the 6th gen folks. When the Tacoma guys started complaining about it I noticed it on my 5th gen. Took me 5 or 6 years to notice but it was there. I pointed it out to several others who never noticed prior either.

How annoying/how much of a problem is the hood shake? I am thinking of buying a 4R and won't have a chance to test drive one for another month. Thanks much
I dont notice it...but I really don't go looking for imperfections. Just test drive one before you buy.

Almost every new vehicle I've been in for the last 5-10 years does it. My wife's Murano does it a little bit, and it has some great structural lines that make it much more rigid.

I don't like it when I'm driving, but I don't know that it bothers me enough to correct it...HOWEVER...The blow dryer at the car wash gives me anxiety because it deforms that spot on the hood far enough that it looks like it's about to get a crease. THAT is more likely to prompt action on my part LOL

It’s there, but only if you stare at it. Honestly easy to miss unless you’re looking for it.
It’s nothing like the prerelease YouTube videos in 2025 where it’s shaking like an abused subwoofer.

I'm not aligned with the occasional hood vibration being a defect. This is not a load bearing panel. The hood doesn't rattle against any other body part. The hood latches cleanly and the 3mm gaps between panels are near perfect. So we can observe the rear edge of the hood shake sometimes. So what?

Eh, I've learned to live with it. Truly shocking they released the car like this, but here we are. I would not introduce a potential issue down the road by "fixing" this.

The only thing I've thought about testing was sound deadening material or adhesive marine step pad foam.

If it bugs you that much, try it out and let us know!
It's not truly shocking. If it bothers you, install a metal bar support under the hood.
