Loving the 4R Limited and now finally have a proper detailing setup to routinely care for it and others. My focus has been to simplify the chemicals/towels and detailing process I use but also upscaling the hardware. I know there’s a lot of chemicals pictured but I really use about 5 routinely (soap, waterless wash, interior detailer, tire shine, and window cleaner). Others are for deeper cleaning and decontaminating.

I’ve always liked detailing my own cars and had a modest setup but now having something a little more robust just inside my shop door has me excited to give it a try….if it’ll just stop raining!! Lol! Anyway, anyone else like to detail their cars instead of using the drive through? Curious to see what others’ setups.

Dude, that’s frickin awesome! I like to detail my 4Runner myself as well, but I have nothing like this setup. You’ve inspired me to get something like this going for myself. What’s your favorite products for detailing?

It’s definitely worth it if you enjoy it. There are a lot of good products out there. Here’s what I’m using at the moment. Apex is a local company near me, so I like to support them and their products are very good.
  • Soap - Adams Mega Foam
  • Waterless Wash (drying aid) - Apex or Adams
  • Interior Detailer - Koch Chemie Pol Star
  • Window Cleaner (also infotainment/gauges) - Bilt Hamber Trace-less
  • Exterior Trim - Apex RTC
  • Tire Shine - Apex 2.0
  • Towels - The Rag Company (I can be specific if you’re interested)
  • Wash pads - Adams synthetic wool pads but have been slowly switching over to Chemical Bros microfiber pads. I use about 6 pads per wash using a 1 bucket process.
Products used only as needed:
  • Prewash - Bilt Hamber Touch-less
  • Paint Sealant (ceramic boost drying aid) - Apex Spray and Seal
  • Wheel/Tire cleaner - Adams

Badass! Thanks for sharing. You have two things I’ve been thinking of getting, a reel for the power washer hose and the wall mounted vacuum. Been using a shop vac. How do you like the vacuum? Maybe eventually. Right now I have the yard hose reel taking up space and may relocate it outside.

Yes, love the setup I built a few years ago. I learned early on to spend 90% of your budget on the touch points. (hose, reel, gun, etc.) These are the things that make the experience better. You can always upgrade your pressure washer if you want.

The CR Spotless and new Power Washer were my latest adds actually. But totally agree! Having good gear really adds to the pleasure. I remember simply adding an MTM gun was game changing! 😆 Then I added the Saker dual connector (pictured) and mind blown! 🤯 😆

Rain? Never heard of it.
- NC right now.

Now pollen on the other hand…🤢
So true! Here in Texas and the oaks have made a mess of everything! But thankfully we’ve been getting a bit of rain too.
