Are the parts actually on back order or they playing games telling you the kit is on back order? Cause the parts are
The same as the tundra minus the rotors but Toyota sends them to the dealers as kits with everything in 1 package so they enter your vin and a kit gets sent to the dealer. Depending on how friendly you guys are they can just use another kit.

if they don’t believe you tell them to
Pull the tsbs up for both models that lists the part numbers

Thx FoozGrind, the service “supervisor” advised when parts were in he’d give a call. It’s been about a month. Not a huge deal for me because the squeal is only an occasional problem. I also thought I’d get a few more miles on these brakes before having it replaced. Just thought it was odd that there was a back order issue. They have a record of the failed front brakes and will eventually get around to fixing it.

Just finished reading this thread (and another similar one)

Just curious: I know the TSB has been extended to the 2026 4Runners, but have any 2026 model owners actually experienced this issue? I don't think I've seen any '26 owners bringing this up (yet)
Yes. My 2026 TRD Sport has brake squealing. Dealer performed the fix from TSB & no more squealing.

I first approached my local dealer on this issue 1/16/26 and was told the parts are on backorder and it would be approximately 11 weeks before they would receive the parts to address it. 2 weeks ago (~16 weeks after in initial contact) I followed up and the service department could give me no more concrete guidance on when the parts kit would arrive,

Last week I escalated the issue to Toyota brand engagement. They responded quickly via email and told me I'd get e call from my dealer's service head very soon. Will report back on how this progresses.

Tell them if they have any tundra or sequoia kits available you will take one of those and they can keep yours when it comes in. Sometimes they have extras because for whatever reason they owner didn’t come back

Ok folks I am happy to say there is another TSB update you can view at the

https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?vymm=2025 4runner

released May 19th that now includes ROTORS. Good luck and god speed to you all. If you got your shit done before 19th and it still squeals this will probably fix it if you can get the dealer to do it again…. I haven’t even started that journey yet.

My dealer squeezed me in Monday with my 10k service. He said there are 130 people waiting for parts for this TSB. However, since he is waiting on rotors for folks with 2WD vehicles, he is stealing their parts to do the repair procedure 1 on mine, which isn't including rotors.

They are linking the same TSB that localhost posted with the same instructions. 2WD gets rotors, 4WD does not. Where are you seeing something different?

Got done with mine along with the 10k service. We'll see if it holds up.
