Thinking about upgrading my suspension to Fox 2.0 or Fox 2.5. Fox 2.0 is roughly around $1700 and 2.5 is around $2300. I live in Maine so we get harsh winters which means rough roads, pot holes and so on. I wouldn’t be “off-roading” I’m just looking to improve my overall ride quality but also know it’s not all flat perfect pavement. I wouldn’t mind spending the extra $500 on the 2.5’s if it’s worth the upgrade I just want to make sure it’s not overkill and tailored more towards off-roading. Thanks for the advice! Just get the 2.0s

I got 2.5 rear and 2.0 front, looking back 2.0 all around would have been enough. Just remember to lower the front shocks before putting them on

I recall there being some discussion about the 2.0s having some sort of difference that reduced noise, vibration, harshness compared to the 2.5s. search the forum, its probably in the thread where all the other off road premium folks realized we got hosed. 😆

this is incorrect, i was thinking of this post: https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/thr...-improve-ride-quality-trd-orp.4525/post-88528

where the poster mentions the 2.5 elites having spherical bearings instead of poly bushings.

from Fox themselves:

The Performance Series 2.0 and 2.5 coil overs and shocks will provide equal compliance and ride comfort for daily driving demands. The larger diameter damping piston and greater oil volume of the 2.5 will provide improved control for more demanding off road conditions.

Both options are preset for an approximate 2.0” ride height increase over stock. Your actual ride height increase may vary due to TRD Off Road trim.

The Performance Series 2.0 is our best selling option by virtue of best ride improvement per dollar.

I live in Pennsylvania. I kind of off road every day in the pothole raised pavement capitol of the United States. Not to mention the tar they use to fill cracks in the asphalt. Rt 5 along lake Erie shoreline feels like a rumble strip. Do you think 2.5s would help?

You should really think about your use case. If you are looking for better daily driving comfort you should be looking elsewhere as those are designed for baja style off roading.

I don't know about Fox but I've done Kings before and they were actually stiff, like a lot stiffer.
