Hello aall,

I bought a '26 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium. I'd like to buy an extended warranty from Toyota. I previously worked with Jennifer at Lexus of Ann Arbor for other Toyotas, but her e-mail bounced and it appears she no longer works there. I then read that Jerry Johnson at Midwest Superstore as a recommendation. I've tried to reach out to him 3 times this past week (e-mail and phone) with no luck.

I'm not in California.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for the Toyota Extended Platinum warranty at a great price?
Has anyone worked with Jerry recently?

Thanks

P.S - I know this topic has created the 'don't get a warranty, save your money'. responses. I've found they are worth it. So I'd like to ask to not devolve into that conversation.

thanks!

call or email them for the best price on Toyota platinum warranty, the prices will not be matched anywhere else on a factory warranty.
The dealership will try and tell you that it’s a scam and that when you go for service there will be no record of ever purchasing a warranty to get you to purchase it from the dealer.
I was an idiot and fell for it and ended up paying double the quoted cost.

Our dealer finance office tricked us by "giving us a special military 50% off discount". When I later found out that we still paid way too much, I cancelled with Toyota for a full refund, then purchased from Troy with Greenfield.

As stated above Troy Dietrich took care of my extended warranty without any hassle. I just reached out to his email directly ([email protected]) and then a brief phone call. Gave me a killer price on Toyota Platinum 10yr/100k warranty $0 deductible. 100% recommend him, totally legit 👍🏻

just to give ref, a 125k/10yr is roughly $2200, so that would be the highest you pay as the lower plans are cheaper for an official toyota vsa.

also they dont send out booklets anymore like the old days.

its a website to verify you have the vsa and expiration date.

https://tmisvpp.com

just select customer and enter your info

Thats $1k less and almost twice the coverage the finance guy offered my when I got my 4R, and he couldnt comprehend why I told him no on his offer. The ole "the warranty you get wont cover as much or be as good as this one" line.

Has anyone here gotten coverage through FD Warranty who lives in Oregon?

I've heard a few states are excluded for some reason.

fd-warranty is just a fancy unfinished website for troy :) (and btw its has not changed looks in at least 5+ years) (its looks exactly the same when i looked at it for our 2018 tundra)

i used the website but after the initial contact we did all correspondence via email

when you use the tmisvpp website and you get your info you can plug your vin and name and it will spit out this (parts redacted)

i bought my toyota vsa about 3 months before the 3yr mark, we only had 18k miles at the time (you have to buy the vsa before the 36k/3yrs factory warranty expires)

2/22/2023 is the day we bought the vehicle, in case you are wondering and the purchase date of the vsa was 24-nov-2025.

Yeah that's great but I just got this response from Troy...

Yes. Unfortunately, we can no longer issue policies to CA, OR, or WA due to various regulatory issues with these states and would need an alternate address…any other state is fine.

well thats an issue at the state not for troy. some dealerships probably ganged up and got some stupid reg/bill passed to restrict out of state sellers to screw the in state people out of more money on the premise of protecting the consumers from scammers and not the colluding dealerships jacking the prices up for their benefit.

just an opinion :)

and i am not surprised cali leads the charge in this, from the state that retroactively charges you an exit tax for leaving the state regardless of when you left.
