just in case anyone cares, the price increase differential across the plans with one being $10 cheaper than before september. also they no longer offer the 5/100k plan.

these are the price increases effective sept-2025 based on the new cost of the plans. so if you had an old email with pricing you will need to add the following amounts to the plans to get the new effective pricing. the last number is the longest time/mileage plan in case you want a reference point in your email if you got it from troy or jerry

$110.00
$25.00
($10.00)
$125.00
$60.00
$70.00
$145.00
$195.00
$90.00
$130.00
$50.00
$245.00
$75.00

edit: sorry i have to be vague in the posting but trying to keep everyone safe from toyota usa

I purchased the what they're calling the Toyota Care Platinum

I purchased the what they're calling the Toyota Care Platinum.

I purchased the extended Toyota Care warranty (and maintenance) at purchase because I figured it being a first year model of the new 6th gen and I've got the ORP iForce Max and figure it's complicated enough to make extra warranty coverage a good insurance policy.
OK and glad you're going to sleep well having done so. I'll wait until closer to my factory warranty expiring. I figure I can put the funds spent on a warranty to better use until the time arrises. What happens if you realize your 4Runner doesn't ride like a Cadillac and Toyota is replacing engines in Tundras and you decide to trade your 4Runner for a Kia? The only one that's going to monopolize in this situation is the dealer, Toyota and the Tidy Bowl Man.

not really. toyota extended warranty has and out clause.

if you dont use it, it can be a pro-rated refund.

they will pro-rate it based on mileage and time. thats why i tend to get a 10/100 since if i trade in a vehicle after say 5 yrs i can usually get 1/2 or more back from being pro rated refund.

this only applies if you buy it yourself. if you roll a toyota extended warranty into your loan, it gets send back to the bank.

edit : plus if you decide within 30 days you dont want it, you can get a full refund. just know you can get the ext warranty anytime with the 3/36 but if you ever canx the plan after you get it, you cannot get another toyota extended warranty for that vehicle again. (ie: you buy it at 1 yr mark but canx it, you cannot buy it again even if you are under the 3/36k limit)

2nd edit : also forgot, it doesnt matter if you get it the when you buy the vehicle, wait a year or wait until you get close to the 3/36k limit, the price is the same (barring any across the board price increase across all plans)

here is the canx rules for a toyota vsa

You can cancel your VSA within 30 days for a full refund, less a $50 processing fee (as permitted by state law). Cancellations will be prorated if applied for after 30 days. Please see your dealer for state-specific cancellation policies.
  1. All Travel Protection benefits are valid only if your vehicle becomes inoperable due to mechanical failure of a covered component. Valid receipts will be required for reimbursement. In California, roadside service provided if vehicle is inoperable due to the mechanical failure of a covered component.
  2. Time and mileage coverage periods are measured from the date the vehicle was first put into service as a new vehicle and zero miles. Coverage expires upon reaching the maximum time or mileage of the coverage period selected, whichever occurs first. Deductible applies to each eligible repair visit. See your agreement for complete terms, conditions and restrictions. Program is not available in all states.Coverage is subject to exclusions and limitations set forth in the Vehicle Service Agreement. Note: VSAs are optional, cancellable (see terms of agreement) and not required to obtain credit. The benefits and covered operations stated here are subject to change or may vary slightly based upon the purchase date of the agreement. In certain states, Toyota Motor Services Company administers Vehicle Service Agreements. Agreements are not available in select states.
  3. Time and mileage coverage periods are measured from the date the vehicle was first delivered into service as a new vehicle and zero miles. Coverage expires upon reaching the maximum time or mileage of the coverage period selected, whichever occurs first. Ineligible vehicles include taxis, shuttle, commuter, professional, emergency or police vehicles, salvage vehicles, all vehicles used or to be used for competitive driving or racing, vehicles used or to be used for plowing snow or towing a trailer in a manner exceeding manufacturer's recommendations, and all vehicles to be held by the purchaser or lessee for hire to the public or for hire to any persons not affiliated with the vehicle purchaser or lessee.
  4. Coverage under the VSA is secondary to, among other agreements, any manufacturer warranty, other valid repair agreement or vehicle.
  5. Roadside Assistance services provided by and through AAA with coverage available anywhere in the continental U.S. and Canada.
  6. Available if vehicle is inoperable due to the mechanical failure of a covered component. Valid receipts will be required for reimbursement.
  7. Plans feature $0 or $100 deductible options. Deductible applies to each eligible repair visit. The deductible is the dollar amount you pay for authorized claims related to a single repair visit. If the disappearing deductible option is selected and the selling dealer of the VSA performs covered repairs, the $100 deductible will be waived. Otherwise the full deductible amount applies.

fd-warranty is legit but looks sus in website appearance

platinum covers about everything except non-hinged trim (if you have trim
with hinges like glovebox door or sun visor and the hinge fails or visor droops
it's covered. but trim is pretty much never covered...example little plastic doors to
access your jack, you bust the tabs, not covered)

----

If you buy a Toyota VSA, and need to check if it is legit

You can go here and enter VIN and name
https://www.tmisvpp.com/home-page.html
(TMIS is Toyota Motor Insurance Services, Inc. )

1762356743704-sh.webp

or
Call Toyota Financial Services directly and they can look it up
[Or if all connected up to Toyota app and Toyota owners account...all that bloat and noise, in there somewhere]
thanks for the link

a bunch of Toyotas
I have never purchased ew for any vehicle but I did this week when we picked up our new 4runner. $3200. 8 years 100k
if that is a Toyota VSA, you were robbed. I suggest cancel and get your money back, [if this not all wrapped up in a loan] then buy one again for less than half what you paid... 8 yr / 100K - $1255.00 or very close to 1255.00

My extended warranty agreement card from Toyota says that it's transferable.
