That's pretty hilarious! It would be interesting to hear them explain how any of the suspension components cause an actual vibration. Clunking on bumps? Sure. Poor handling in turns or when braking? Absolutely. But a vibration? Highly unlikely unless you just installed a lift that can push the caster out of spec. Vibes are typically a resonation from a rotating mass, right? So wheels/tires are first culprits, driveshafts or half shafts are next on the list, and lastly (and most costly) axle shafts or transmissions.
Agreed. As mentioned in my 1st post, I think it goes beyond wheels/tires. People with vibration issues being told it's "normal" after dealer attempts to fix should call Toyota customer care and open a case. My guess is the above. It's drivetrain. I'm guessing differentials or maybe driveshaft.
Yep, I have opened a case and they sent me to the local dealer, who couldn't fix it 100%, but did so marginally. I just opened a new case yesterday with Toyota national as well as posting on NHTSA complaints site.

That sucks. I am about to call Toyota. I have a 2nd case opened with them. They told me they dont warranty the tires, so told me to call Toyo. What a sham this is.
Prob a good chance the vibration issues are related considering how.much the Tacoma and 4Runners share same parts. I hope enough 4Runner owners complain about this that Toyota issues a recall.
