First winter with the truck and I noticed after it failed to get the ice off of my frozen wiper blades that the De-ice button does indeed turn is light on but all 3 locations (mirrors, wipers and rear window) are still ice cold after 15 minutes. I have double checked that the rear window is fully closed and checked the fuse which was perfectly fine. I swapped around the relay after getting home but have not retested yet. Has anyone else verified this function works or knows an issue with it?

All good and working fine up here in Canada.

Works better if you’re not in ECO Mode and the wiper blade de-icer is connected to the rear window de-icer switch

Good info... I think I read it once and since forgot.

I have to comment on the Toyota manuals after reading the pic you included. Could they have worded it any more confusing? Same with most other sections. They desperately need an English translator to rewrite this stuff.

Yes I agree, when I’m in the owner’s manual I always have to read the sections 3 or 4 times to make sure I get it right. Probably some AI issues.

I think it is strange that it says when the S-Flow switch is ON and illuminated it MAY still direct air flow to the back seats if a back seat is occupied.

Why “may”?? If it doesn’t, I would be wondering why not.

(Hybrid manual pp452-453)

Ah thank you. Always wondered what it was.
it also lower fans speed in that mode. if you turn it off and manually shut off the rear vents, you get stronger airflow from the system when you turn it off

the front vents i get stronger airflow since i sit little further back in the cabin than normal. great for these extreme cold temps lately where i just have to raise my hand at the wrist to get some decent fast air across my hands to warm up at the gear shifter.

Ended up swapping the relays around and got some heat at the front and rear deicer but its pretty weak, and i guess it shuts off in 15 min and never turns back on because during a long trip theyre ice cold when i get out and the ice never melts off the wiper. The mirrors never get warm. I feel like these feature was substantially better on the 5th Gen. This is bearly functional
