Hi all. I have noticed an issue when I am using adaptive/lane centering cruise control: when going around a corner, the vehicle tends to go to the inside of the corner, often crossing the line and then throwing a warning about going over the Lane marking.

It does an excellent job staying centered and straight and very slight corners, but when there is a moderate corner, it will often take a sharper angle than necessary.

Is everybody else have this problem or is this potentially a calibration issue with my vehicle?

I noticed the first time or two I used it it freaked me out how close to the lines it was going even on a straight line. By the 2nd or 3rd time it seemed to center itself and has stayed centered since. Might be a learning curve?

BTW, don't use it, seems more of a hassle than it's worth...JMHO

Oh man I use it all the time to/from mountains in CO. Turbo is great for keeping speed on the rolling hills.

I like technology but I don't trust Lane centering especially going around curves.

I have also noticed that it will drift and hug lines before it pushes you back.

Be very aware that other people in other cars are doing the same thing. Other drivers are using the same features and most likely have the same issues of drifting as I have seen quite a bit. Or they could just be over medicated! Just my two cents

I also hate it when it slows down too much for my taste while going around a corner.

Lane centering works in ideal conditions. Otherwise pay attention.

For oncoming cars on 2-lanes, I stay towards the outer line. Then I need to fight lane centering to keep it there. And it does do some wonky things in curves.

Not useful if I can't trust it. I usually give up and turn it off.

You may know this, but just in case, you can change the sensitivity of this setting.
I thought you could too. But no matter what I did the sensitivity never seems to change. I was able to locate where you can turn off the audible beeping when it gets to close to the outer edge of the lane, but that audio level resets each time you turn off then restart your 4Runner. I even looked into trying to permanently turn off the beeping in Carista - nope, not an option. I'm fine with the steering wheel shake....the beeping isn't necessary.

My 4Runner does not beep. I only get the wheel shake. This is how it came from the dealer, so I do not know what setting they adjusted to turn it off, but I am happy they did.

I prefer the beep. Wheel shake reminds me too much of Death Wobble from when I drove a Jeep with worn out rubber suspension bushings. Like there's something wrong with the front end.
