I'd not go with the TRD Air Filter. Just not worth the hassle & maintenance for the expensive price. You have to buy the filter & the kit to oil it after cleaning it. Unless you're racing your 4RunnerWas ordering a bunch of stuff for maintenance (engine & diff oil, etc.) and have already replaced cabin air filter (cabin air filter mouse damage) so figured it was getting on time to change engine air filter. I'm at 17k miles - will do diffs at next oil change on 4K cycle between 19 and 20K.
I was thinking about stepping up to the TRD filter (~$60) but when I checked the filter it was almost pristine - there was a bit of dust that came out when I knocked it but not much and its still "white".
Additionally it has a part number that is different than any of the numbers I could find at dealer parts stores. Posting just for FYI and to see if there is any real benefit of going with the "TRD" filter.
