Air Filter - Where to order online

Dealer has sold me the wrong air filter twice. The last one fits but is half the thickness of the original. Does anyone know where I can order the correct one online?

If you don’t care about getting a factory Toyota one, there’s a few bundles on Amazon that include the cabin filter for $30. They fit great, work great, I have no issue recommending them.

Purolator (Purolator A36116 PurolatorONE) for engine air filtering, tests as the best for particulate infiltration and decent on airflow - check project farm on youtube; or OEM from online. Google: Toyota part #17801-0P051 is the thicker, original factory-installed engine air filter, while #17801-YZZ11 is Toyota's thinner, budget-friendly value line replacement filter. Both the better OEM and Purolator are on Amazon - same as dealer pricing

The one that came from the factory has been changed to a new part number. It is also a thinner filter media. Dealers will not stock the factory PN, nor will you be able to order it from them. You may find them online at random stores, but they're quickly disappearing.

Nah, the Polish made Hengst filter is better than the factory.

Same media, but also includes a snow guard pad on the edge of the filtering side.

Hengst is a tier 1 supplier to the German car industry, so instantly beats out anything aftermarket really.

I'm familiar, but I preferred Mahle for my BMWs, but used Hengst without concern.

I purchased the K&N lifetime washable cabin (P/N: VF2080) and engine (P/N: 33-2443) filters at 5,000 miles. I was a little skeptible at first, but at 15,000 miles and 2 cycle filter cleanings later, I have been very happy with the product, the performance and the easibility of cleaning. If you purchase the aftermarket filters, my recommendation is to keep both the OEM filters as a spare so if you have to take the car out while the filters are driving, you're not running the engine air system raw.

K&N air filters have been proven time and time again through independent testing to be worst type of air filter you could possibly use. For a race car, go for it. For a street car that you have any desire to make last in any regard, they remain a really, really bad choice.

Yeah, I do miss having a 'default' choice between Mann, Mahle, Corteco, etc.

Ended up with Napa Gold which is no longer made by Wix however it is the same size as the original and looks quality. I'm not concerned since this vehicle is currently a pavement queen.
