Mine too! 😡 Occassionally when going forward too.
That was a new development on the 3rd or 4th attempt at a "fix" that did not do previously on the original few sets of brakes. The backward screech is less now, still consistently there, but not as loud/long lasting, but, now, occasionally does it going forward while cold/first few minutes.

I got a screech just once backing up on my SR5. 10,000 miles now, silent. It screeched at
me around mile 6000 or so backing up. I back up daily and that one screech was horrible. but none since. weird

You're very fortunate. What year do you have?

Hello fellow Texan. I'm a Houstonian. How long did it take them to fix the issue for you?
They had my 10k service done and the brake TSB in about 2 and a half hours. They didn't need to rotate my tires since I just got new and I had already done my cabin and hybrid air filters.

Did they shed any further light on WTH the brakes are squealing like dying banshees?
I was told it boiled down to a change in the brake pad material.

The service manager I chatted with, Bob, was really kind on the phone and I can't believe he squeezed me in. He said 130 people are waiting on parts, but he stole the parts from a 2WD waiting on rotors. He was off the day I went so I didn't get to talk to him more, but I'd have to imagine you're probably right. I am curious why the 2WD need new rotors too.

I'm curious why it would need rotors also. I've got to get mine scheduled in to be repaired. I'm pushing it to close to 10,000 so they can do the tire rotation at the same time as the 10k miles service. I was previously told by an Asst Service Mgr that the squeal is not causing any damage to anything...its just annoying AF. I assume that it's correct now that you've shared your story here about it. It doesn't sound like you had any damage done by waiting until near 10k miles. I'm going to drain & fill my RWD rear differential fluid myself at 15k then at 30k I'll pay the dealership to drain & fill the transmission fluid.
