Ok I am a little confused now. With this kit, will 285/75r17 (33.8ish") fit without rubbing? I thought the Ed Martin videos showed about a 33.7" tire fitting with no issues, but @Browndirtcowboy says his rub. Anyone else?
It depends on the trim and vehicle accessories and options installed and certainly the specific tire being fitted.

I don't think that setup rubbed at all. I will be able to confirm in the next few weeks as my truck will be coming into that dealership and they are doing the exact same setup with mine. I know they have a built a few with that exact setup.

The 285/75's rubbed with the Trailhunter wheels at full lock.

The setup is:
18" Trailerhunter Wheels
Toyo Open Country 285/70 R18 Tires (33.7")
TRD 2.5" Factory Lift

They did 275/70r18. The 285/70r18 didn't fit. Isn't the 285/75r17 about the same as 285/70r18? Also they had the 20 offset wheels

Yeah similar diameter but the 20mm offset is probably why. I’m thinking of pulling the trigger on 285/75r17… will report back

They did 285/75 R18 in the video for the "35's" which didn't fit. They now do their builds using 285/70 R18's as they are doing on mine.

Can confirm 285/75R17s fit with method 703s with 35 mm offset. I have a mild bilstein lift probably similar to the TRD lift. No issues rubbing at all. 285/70R18s should work, with 30-40 mm offset

This guy has a Torq lift with 285/70R18s with the 45 mm offset TRD pro wheels, his set up was my inspiration for the 285/75R17

I am happy I found this forum, this is where I first heard Toyota has a dealer installed Lift kit that maintains the factory warranty.

I’ll start by saying this is my first 4Runner. My only complaint about the 4Runner is the ride, it‘s a rough ride. I had a Chevy ZR2 with a mulitimatic suspension and it was nice. Installing this kit has soften it up quite a bit. I still feel bumps but not like with the factory suspension.

I live in Ohio, about 2 hours from Ed Martin. I purchased the TRD lift kit and Red UCA’s. I had them do my 5K service while there as well. I am very happy with how it turned out. I can vouch for Ed Martin’s service. Their parts guy Nouhad was excellent to work with. He was a great communicator, emailing me status updates until the parts arrived. The service advisor Nick was also very friendly and provided excellent communication during the installation. While I was walking around the building getting my steps in, I saw Eric in the parking. It was nice meeting him in person. He was helpful with getting me a rental car so I didn’t have to stay the night since it was a 2 day install with the additional services I requested.

Their technician Ryan did a fantastic job on the lift install and finally got rid of the vibration I was experiencing at highway speeds.

I had Pro wheels and Toyo tires installed at my local dealer, Joseph Toyota and it has been a disaster. They chipped one of my wheels and had to replace. They left a light ring around each of the wheel hub area (around the TRD center logo), assuming from careless balancing. I have taken it back to them 3 times for a slight vibration. After the 3rd time the service manager said that’s normal. I asked Ed Martin to rebalance while onsite installing the lift kit. The service advisor Nick called and said there is a foreign object in the wheels and wanted approval to take the tires off the rims to inspect. I of course approved. They found a tiny screw in both Front tires just ratting around. They suspect left behind when my TPMS sensors had to be replaced. Oh yeah, the TPMS I purchased originally didn’t work. Rather than wait and take my 4Runner back again, I decided to take the factory Sport wheels back to them to use the stock TPMS sensors. This is likely where the screws were left behind…

Sorry for the long rant, I only wish I was a little closer to Ed Martin and I would just take it to them for normal service.

I hear you. I live in Pittsburgh and am buying my 4Runner from Ed Martin. It's a little over 6 hour drive, but I feel it is worth it for the price and the assurance of them installing the lift kit, etc.

What tire size are those?

285/75r17 Toyo AT3 installed today. Looks muuuuch better with this suspension setup. I did notice some light rubbing at full lock reversing out of my driveway. Will get some better pics and report back on fitment after I get a chance to drive it some more.
