Any mods / accessory / upgrade regrets?

Front "eyebrow" strip tint. It does NOTHING that the visor couldn't do and adds $50 extra on the tint work.

If I were to do it again, I'd get light tint, like 75% on the whole front windshield.

This photo lives rent free in my head. Your photo game is on point.

Makes me want to find a hood swap or even buy one so I can have that sweet hood scoop life.

So far I'm pretty satisfied with my "mods":

8) Front license plate mount - this was purchased only because I didn't want to drill holes in the new bumper. The mount is solid (may need an additional, nylock nut just to keep the 2 mounts from loosening up), the license plate is up out of the way, and no extra holes drilled. I'll see how this works out in the long-run.

I'm Virginia resident also did you buy your vehicle from out of state and is that's why you don't have a front plate Mount? Just curious, picture if you have time.

That's what I installed. My sales person said they hadn't drilled it yet and asked what I wanted to do. I said throw the factory front plate mount and the plate in the truck and I'll install it myself.

How dark did you go? I did 3% for my 6" windshield strip, it's really dark. Much darker than the rest of the tint. I like it. I did a lighter one on my Tundra a few years ago, and didn't care for it.

oem automatic running boards.

• unless you or someone you drive with are shorter than 5ft 8in, not worth it. the vehicle doesnt sit high enough and they extend downward at a awkward height (your either too long legged to use them or your too tall to to use them)
• if you live in a snow state or go off roading and have the oem mud flaps, they dont save you the hassle of debris hitting the rear passenger door kick out (the mud flaps doesnt protect the rear doors where a conventional running board would)

i am looking for a set of mud flaps that extend lower than the oem's to cover the splash of snow/slush/dirt onto the rear door kickouts

Interesting. The OEM running boards are one of my favorite options. They are nice and wide and make loading equipment on the roof much easier. I found with my past two 4runners and Tacoma, that the only place I would get seat wear was on the drivers side seat bolsters. You tend to slide over and compress the bolsters when you enter and exit the vehicle. I really like how I can step on the running board and lift over the side bolster when getting in, or exiting the drivers's seat. My wife is around 5'8" and finds it is much easier to get in the 4Runner. It is also a really clean look for the vehicle. Time will tell if there are any mechanical issues.

Only thing I regret is the lighted emblem in front. After having the limited for 5 months, I hate the "chrome" grill and will be replacing with TRD Pro grill. Hoping I can sell the emblem and make some money back that pays for some of the new grill. Besides that, have liked all the little things I have added: Canvasback covers all around (I have 4 dogs), lasfit cargo mats (again 4 dogs), bushwacker dog barrier, USB fan in the back (10' right angle USB cable to the middle plug), paw print puddle lights, debadged the iforce max badges, glovebox and console organizer, cheap safety light from Lowes for the circle storage thingie, Hella horns, matte screen protector, and tint next week.

I hate the aesthetics of the Dunlop tires but I'm frugal and hated the idea of Toyota charging me $1400 for the Nitto's and keeping the original tires lol. I will wait a few years before I change the tires out and probably leveling kit at the same time.

Hey: Can you elaborate on the rear storage you found on the SR5? ----Thanks.

There are two 10mm bolts that cover this secret area. I made some toggle screws, so I can access the area easily. It is good for stuff you don't need very often.

I use a Lasfit cargo tray in the back on top of the canvasback because they cover up all the gaps and super easy to drag out and wash the drool off.
