Any Hybrid Owners using an alternator charger like the Ecoflow 800w or Bluetti Charger 2?

Anyone Have the alternator charger on a Max/hybrid?

I have seen mixed info about whether or not there’s an alternator on the max so I’m curious if it’s possible or beneficial to have that on the Max for over landing and keeping the batteries topped off.

I have the Trail Hunter IForce Max and it has an alternator. Runs the winch just fine plus it has 2400 w AC outlets that come in handy for over landing.

on a vary small select set of trims, if you PIO the aux switch bank, you get the alternator installed on the hybrid models.

Basically, if you have the prewired auxiliary switches, you have an alternator. They come standard on the Pro and Trailhunter, and are optional on the Off-Road Premium (hybrid only).

Otherwise, the hybrid battery charges your 12v battery via DC/DC inverter and you don't have an alternator.

I have the AUX switched so I must have an alternator.

I haven’t heard of anyone wiring the alternator charger to the hybrid yet. Want to see if it’s any different than the non hybrid. Want to add an alternator charger for overlanding.

You dont need it though. You already have one installed.

I think there’s been some confusion in the thread about what I was asking, so I want to clarify.

I’m looking to add an alternator charger—specifically devices like the EcoFlow 800W Alternator Charger or Bluetti Charger 2. These charge portable power stations significantly faster than a standard 12V outlet (up to ~8x faster), which would let me top things off much more efficiently while overlanding.

My original question was whether anyone with a hybrid has installed one of these and how it’s been working out for them—performance, reliability, or any issues specific to hybrids.

lol, i guess wording could have been better like charger that runs off the alternator.

but the clarification you posted clears up the confusion. that leaves me out of the conversation with the new update.

only thing i can think of is a swap or modification of the outlet in the back area to run a charger

I knew what you were talking about. I have the Pecron version in my GX460. The hybrid already has a 2400w inverter which does the same thing. Plug the power station into it.

Why would you spend $300 on an 800w Ecoflow alternator charger when you have a 2500w inverter built in?

The inverter on the truck does not charge fast enough to replenish my battery in a reasonable amount of time. There are also numerous write-ups noting that when the inverter output exceeds roughly 400–500 watts, a very loud fan engages inside the cabin.

Agreed that the inverter can run a fridge, charge a power station, etc., the amount of time I drive each day after a night of camping isn’t sufficient to keep the battery charged. With the limitations of the 2400-watt inverter, the battery will eventually be depleted.

My options are to upgrade to a larger power station (which would cost well over $1,000), run the engine while sitting at camp, or install an alternator charger.

Super interested in this (and disappointed in Toyota for the weird aux switch alternator craziness). Do folks know how long the hybrid battery can act in place of a power station? I was thinking of doing the same thing OP is saying and wiring in a charger form the alternator eventually. I think it’s like an hour from that feed vs hours still using the outlet in the back.

Other threads on here on people charging their Ecoflow Delta in 2hrs on the plug and that is with the input wattage turned down to like 500w so the fan is quiet.

Also if you have a limited w/o tow package, you don't have an alternator.

Yeah, no alternator for this guy for sure. 2 hours isn’t bad, takes me longer than that to charge mine at home than that.
