285 or 275 and 0 offset wheels with no rubbing - recommendations?

I want to get with 285s or 275s with 0mm offset wheels but I don’t want any rubbing or very minimal rubbing (like mudguard rub or something), I do plan to install RC 2in leveling kit though, what tire size do yall suggest?

From everything I’ve read, 275 won’t rub but not sure about 285. Wheel width plays a roll as well. The 0 offset will push the wheels outboard about an inch. Believe the SR5 wheels are +25.

I think a 0 offset with 275`s will rub. I had 275`s on a 25 offset( trd pro wheels) with a 2" RC spacer and I didnt notice any rubbing but it was very close.
Consider a wheel with 25 to 35 offset. 285`s will probably rub with any offset. Dont de-value your ride by cutting anything in the front.

This is interesting. Had no idea the axels would be different. Seems unnecessary to vary them but suppose it’s a way for Toyota to cut costs. Was thinking of leveling the front with an adjustable coilover which shouldn’t mess with the geometry too much. Especially if paired with an upgraded control arms.

assume you have 17s, not 18s? Id start there because its an easier tire to shop for…. and assuming you have 17s, i still dont know if 285/70/17 would be OK cuz of that offset, 0 is pretty wicked, at +25 offset u would be pretty good i think…..If you have 18s… at 0 offset, id be worried about 275 tbh, i think 265 would be max and i still dont know about your fender liners…. Id question the 0 offset desire, i think a +25 and 285/70/17s, should fit and would look nice and plump. The stock trd pro wheels are +25 and with 275-70-18s, looks nice…

Totally missed the rc lift… my bad, i think with the rc lift 285/70/17 at 0 offset should be OK, and 275/70/18 should be ok. Without lift, neither.

I don’t. But the information regarding this is well established. In the 5th gen the axles were all the same size but in the 6th they made this adjustment. The off-road, trail hunter and pro get beefier axles. You can use chat to confirm. But again…it’s been firmly established that this is what Toyota decided to do. I would imagine that a small lift wouldn’t do much to the axles over time but if you go aggressive it would have an impact.

Just put on 285 70 17 et10 and it rubs a little in reverse when turning on the front edge of the liner. No lift

Well I decided to investigate again. Last time I had looked into this was January. Now information appears to suggest that the non-hybrids all have 8.2 inch axles. So if I was incorrect….my apologies.
