Do you drive a lot of stop and go? Aggressively? 285 seems pretty low and translates to 15 mpg...
Remember, there are ~2 gallons left when you hit zero on the DTE meter (and it changes to "REFUEL NOW"). So, roughly: 285 miles/17 gallons=16.8 MPG.
Yes this is low - but in the range that many folks are reporting. (I'm under 18 MPG (adjusted for size) with my winter/off-road 285/70 E-load (57#) tires - 4.5 MPG higher with 265/70 SL (37#) tires).

Yup. I have 7,600+ miles and am getting between 350 and 385 a tank with stock tires…

Guys. I continue to be puzzled. Do not get me wrong, I love my SR5….but when I fill up the dash shows 305 miles to empty. Is this a tank size issue or a bad reading somewhere?
My pilot V6 used to get about 420 miles to empty when the tank was full.

Am i missing anything? Forgive me if this has been answered before.

thx
I'm only getting around 295 per fill-up up and I drive conservatively. When I first got it, I was getting upwards of 320. And I have a hybrid!

Hybrid on this vehicle is a power adder, not for increased MPG. Even the “eco” mode doesn’t give better MPG, but allegedly makes for smoother driving experience somehow. In fact my MPG was worse in eco mode, and I also have hybrid. Switched to normal driving mode and get nearly 20mpg, up from hybrid mode which barely broke 17mpg with same driving patterns. Dash usually reads 335 miles until empty when I fill up from about 1/8 tank or so.

Good to know. I will try driving in Normal mode. Thanks!

Well you have added quite a bit of weight: Heritage Blue Build
Particularly those E-load tires make a BIG difference (see my detailed data in the Hybrid milage thread (and some posts above in this thread). Also, the cold makes a difference - particularly in short drives where things never get warm enough to let Hybrid Traction Motor kick in (where it would it warmer temps).

Good information. Thank you. Hopefully my gas mileage will be a lot better than when I drive out west 😝.

I missed the part about the tires. I was getting over 300 mpg after the tires were installed-I had them put on at 500 miles, and the armor underneath just recently got installed. My MPG has decreased well in advance of the heavier items.

And I forgot to ask if your milage is adjusted for the larger tires. From threads above it sounds like you were getting ~320 DTE after fill at the start and that dropped to ~300 with the bigger tires. There are two factors in play: 1. Heavier tires definitely impact MPGs negatively. 2. Assumedly that 300 miles is from the DTE reading after fill on the dash and doesn't account for the almost 2% artificial loss in milage due to fewer rotations. With the difference in tire size (265/70R18 to 275/70R18) the difference is ~1.8% or ~5.5 miles at 300.
So... Hypothesis: 15 mile drop from additional weight and another 5.5 from size difference unaccounted for.
Obviously the numbers are not this precise and I may be completely off base about your specific scenario. but I realized after re-reading my previous post that tire size could be part of your decrease that needs to be taken into account.
Note: I have documented DTE readings after fill as high as 366 (with OEM tires in summer and lots of highway) and as low as 288 (with 285/70s in winter with mostly very short trips and some 4LO thrown in).
OEM tires w/ air dam: 17 tank avg post fill DTE: 348.
285/70 E-load no air dam: 13 tank avg post fill DTE: 315.
