I'm looking for a skid plate to replace the plastic shield thing that came on my 25 TRD Sport Premium. It'll need to be sufficient for some light offroad usage but it absolutely has to have an access to the oil filter so I'm not taking it on and off every 5k miles. With too many choices out there which ones have the best filter access? I figured people who have them mounted already would be the best to answer the question. Thanks in advance everyone! 👍

Just to add another choice for you… there is also the Land Cruiser skid plate. It’s basically the same as the Trail hunter skid, but says “TOYOTA” vs “TRAILHUNTER”. These are longer than the TRD option. The LC version is also a lot cheaper than the TH version, even through they are essentially the same.

Rival has both oil filter access door and an opening for the oil pan, but it’s still a pain in the butt to change the oil because there’s less clearance to work under the vehicle and the oil spills all over the skid plate. I think I’m gonna take it off oil change

Ultimately, decided to go with NYTop since the front section can be disassembled quickly. Originally was gonna go with CBI but the shipping and taxes killed it for me.
