Can you elaborate on why you disagree?

5 tire rotations ensure that I have an extra tire with the same amount of wear, so when (not if, but in my case when) I damage a tire beyond repair I can swap in a matching spare and continue to have 4 matching tires. Using your strategy I could end up with tires on the same axle having different diameters, putting unnecessary strain on the differential.

On top of that, as your spare gets older, you will either eventually throw away a tire that has little or no wear, or risk driving with an old & unsafe spare.
I explained as best I could in my post.

it depends on the dealer. some dont care when you use the 2 free oil changes, some dealers wont do it until the 10k oil change.

i really dont see the issue with using the 2 free oil changes when the customer wants to. you flag it in the system as a free oil change per toyota care and just move on.

if a dealer is that pissy about it, find a different dealer if you can that wants a customer to visit their service dept.
My dealer put a service reminder tag on the windshield for 5000 mile/6 month service with a date of 1/10/2026, 6 months after the cars' first recorded use.

Report it to management? Where do you think the employees get their direction?
Report it to Toyota?
You will leave a message, send an email, or otherwise contact them. All that crap has zero impact on the dealer. Likely goes into a dump file that is purged daily.
Fox and chicken coop deal....

None of this surprises me. I've had similar experience with my wife's car at a Chevy dealer. With the "free" services (warranty paid) or the significantly reduced price service specials (Chevy has 5qt synthetic oil change, tire rotation, and multi-point inspection for $90), the dealers are going to cut corners to beat the system. I find this especially true in large metro areas with high costs of living. Most people would never know or care if their tires were rotated. Take a look at your service history on the Toyota website. My selling dealer never did the dealer prep. If they did, it would have been the first entry in my service history. My history is blank so far. I think they had the detailers unwrap it and wash it and send it on it's way. That explains why my tires all had 50psi in them. To be honest, I'm nervous about going to my local dealer (not selling dealer) for the 5k service. I mostly DIY all car maintenance but want to take advantage of what is included with my purchase. To the OP, I would def contact the dealer and call them out on what they skipped. I'm sure they will deny all of it but nice to let know you are on to them. Good luck.

The service that comes included with the purchase is only for the 10K and 20K oil changes. The 5K service is only an inspection and a tire rotation. I did the 1,000 and 5K oil changes and paid $95 fee for each oil change. Next service will be at the 10K and will be free.

I had an oil change at 860 miles and the service rep said I could use one of my free ones but I would not be getting my moneys worth because they would not rotate the tires. He said it was better to pay out of pocket and use the free one when I go back at 5,000.

It does not make sense - tire rotation at 5,000 is part of the free service. 🤔🤔🤔

I didn’t know you can look up your service history!! How does one even log in to look this up? Only by VIN#??

i personally dont do the free rotation, being FT4WD platinum and i dont abuse my 4R, the tires stay pretty close to each other without a rotation. within 1-2 mm in tread

This is Rob from Hansel Toyota. I reviewed the video of your 2025 4Runner with 4,609 miles, and the tire rotation and inspection were completed as requested.

We rotate tires front to rear to maintain directional tread orientation. Toyota’s complimentary maintenance covers oil and filter changes every 10,000 miles for the first two years. Any earlier oil change would be at your expense and must be requested during write up.

he tried calling me, but I was busy. I’m gonna call him back later this afternoon. My question to him through the text was how were you able to rotate the tires when the key has been in my pocket the whole time????

he just responded back with this
we use master sets, from Toyota that are meant for abuse of daily use www.mktext1.com/p/oSu7Gj.jpg

I actually had 4600 miles, I knew they weren’t gonna change the oil which they didn’t and they also said that they did a tire rotation, but they never did. They also made no mention of my sxth element intake and afe exhaust. The service advisor did complement my fog lights and ask what brand they were and I told them they were just vinyl overlay. Left with a clean bill of health LoL! This was Hansel Toyota in Petaluma, California.
how is the sound difference with the sxth element intake? is it significantly more "turbo"?

Headed in for my first 5K service here in a few days as well...really surprising oil change is not part of this service interval?
