Looking to swap out the stock 245/70/17s on my SR5 and could use some advice.
It’s primarily my daily driver, but I also need it to handle winter trips to the ski resorts and summer runs out to remote camping spots. I don’t want to give up too much in terms of mpg, road noise, or ride quality, but I’d like something a little more capable than stock.
I’m sticking with the stock SR5 suspension (no lift in the near future), but I do like the look of a slightly bigger tire. I’ve been looking at the Cooper Road+Trail AT and the Vredestein Pinza AT since both seem solid in snow (TireRack tests), and I’m debating whether to bump up to something like 255/75/17 or stay closer to stock size.
Anyone running something similar? What size/tire combo has worked best for balancing daily driving, winter trips, and light off-road/camping use?
