My two cents on my 25 TRD ORP...

Cons:
Loose rear spoiler.
Front door panels creak.
Rear window rattle.
Front seats make a popping noise when shifting weight sometimes.
Jittery ride quality on roads with small bumps/cracks.
Intermittent seat memory issues.
Odd ergonomic placement of cupholders.
Tight egress/ingress rear seats.
Less rear legroom than prev gen (IMO).
Feels less durable/tough than prev gen (my wife has a 23 4runner).
Poor MPG for 4 cyl. (15 mpg mostly city).
Kick sensor for rear hatch doesn't work consistently.
Overpriced.

Pros:
Styling (Subjective).
Smooth acceleration.
Decent power for 4 cyl.
Seat comfort.
Cameras/infotainment (premium model).
Strong AC.
Good ventilated front seats (premium model).
15 mpg is definitely disappointing. Have you upgraded wheels/tires? I’ve been getting 23mpg consistently on the stock set-up.

I used the URL with ChatGPT and told it what I wanted. You could do the same, but ask for the output into an Excel file, then create a live link to it for others to add to it over time. Maybe the moderator has alternative ideas too, but he doesn't like me. ;)
Dang dude you’re out here putting my tech skills to shame 🤣

350 miles... loose spoiler, hadn't noticed it until I read about it here. #3 bass vibration made me crazy. Took it to the service Dept today and it appears to be fixed (see video). Can't comment on the other issues, haven't had it long enough. Shout out to the tech that worked on the rattling window issue. I asked him to shoot a video demonstrating his fix.

15mpg from the hybrid too? That's wild, I'm averaging around 15 in the non hybrid.

Only issue I have so far is a rattling noise coming from the engine at idle usually when the car is cold.

Android Auto Issues
  1. Bluetooth Prompt: Android Auto won't connect unless you manually enable it in Bluetooth settings.
  2. Phone Detection Bug: Sometimes the phone doesn’t show up at all; requires a system restart to fix.
Remote Key Inconsistency
  • The remote key (likely using Bluetooth as I see a device named CAR Digital Key added to my phone) behaves inconsistently — sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
  • Speculation: Other active Bluetooth devices (e.g., ear pods, smartwatches) might be interfering, I am not sure.

Yes, I’m aware the first years of a redesign come with their fair share of growing pains. I think keeping a list of common issues and potential fixes would be a lot of value to new and potential new owners. No one wants to be disappointed after a >$50k purchase.

Haven’t been to a dealership in my city yet (3600 miles, bought out of state) but I plan to bring these up at my 5k service and will report back.
Yes, these honest summaries are super helpful to potential buyers like me.

I noticed that no one mentioned hood flutter although I've seen that mentioned by other 6th Gen owners. That would bother me.

Interesting... My TH has not given me any of these issues in the 3 months of ownership, with exception of the CarPlay connection which only happems when the phone is a low battery levels. COuld be a phone software battery power conservation thing. Will keep thes in consideration in the months to come.
I’ve also not experienced any of these issues with my TRD Off-Road. I’m 5 months in and sitting just shy of 8000 miles and I’ve been dragging it all over the mountains on some pretty severe and beat up roads. Rattles are to be expected after doing shit like that but I’ve been able to track them down and resolve them fairly easily.

It could also just be that I am not noticing some of these issues. I’m pretty laid back and don’t put much energy into analyzing every little thing on my vehicle. I look at them as a tool to be used. The car show was over the minute I drove it off the lot. Not that I don’t take good care of my vehicles. I just don’t cover them in bubble wrap.

The wireless car play has its issues in every vehicle I’ve had it in. In my Mini Cooper it was awful I constantly was fighting with it. The 4Runner only acts up if I leave it running and get out of range. Which I do from time to time when I have the dogs with me and need to leave the AC on while I’m in the store. My wife’s Highlander has to be on usb for car play to work. I actually prefer that to the wireless version.

Hopefully I don’t experience more of these issues and that those who are can find some resolution to them.

There IS less leg room in the rear seats. Toyota specs indicate this.

It's a smooth-ish box, it's not going to get the best mpg. What kind of city driving are you doing? Lots of start/stops, lots of idling in traffic? What mode are you in? I've found that eco mode uses the battery more often in low mph situations. Heck I've even gotten it to drive the vehicle up to roughly 30mph, depending on pedal pressure.

Definitely overpriced, by about 10k. But, everything else is overpriced today...

Outstanding from the tech! Did you get this done at a dealership?

I have problems #3 and 5 on my gas only Limited trim. Big sad.

Yes, Dealership where the 4R was purchased. The service manger gave me a funny look when I asked if would be ok. The tech did a great job. I have driven the 4R for 6 hours since with zero rattling! Problem solved, for now.

Amazing. Will inquire about this next trip. Thank you!
