Many times I will hop out to go to the store and i will lock the car causing it to beep excessivly like a door is open. Everytime I have to turn around to then open and close the rear hatch to be able to lock the stupid car. It's enough to make me want to get rid of it.

I had the same issue, turned out it was the occupancy warning. I guess if you open the back door (or maybe the hatch?) it beeps extra times every time to remind you that something could be in the rear. I can’t remember if it was in the cluster or head unit settings but it saved my sanity.

Edit: I think I remember it being in the wheel/cluster settings

Rear occupancy is definitely deep in the dash settings but i turned mine off. Now if i can get the Toyota app to stop reminding me, that'll be great
If anyone can figure this out please make a post or something because the app notifications about checking the back seat is driving me nuts too

If you guys go on the app, on the top right click the profile icon>account>notification settings and then you'll see rear seat reminder.

I was closing up the trunk and some passenger doors the other day while the car was still running, and I counted 8 beeps in a row. Totally excessive, Toyota, and super annoying, too.

They CHARGED you for fixing a factory setting?? WOW! Tell them to refund your money or you will make mention of their great service on Google, YELP, etc.

I turned off the rear seat notification (how useless, it seems only based on that I opened the rear door!) in the app as well as on the information cluster menu, but it still beeps. Is there something I am missing?

Have you had anyone figured out how to turn this off? I did not see it in the dealer customizable settings even. Every time I get out of the car to check my mailbox or after putting my dog in the car and I have the key fob in my pocket it will beep eight times and it's driving me nuts. There has to be a way to turn this off right? I get that. It's reminding you that the key fob isn't in the vehicle or something like that, but man it's annoying. Maybe it's reminding you that the car is on? I have the rear passenger notification off.
