Here's how to get remove the big honkin air dam / plastic chin spoiler. Luckily it's so simple -- just unbolt 9 bolts.




You don't need to lift the 4Runner btw. Here's an uninstall from the ground.

This is the very first thing I'm doing when I get my Platinum home from the dealer. I wonder if the dealer would just take it off for me? It looks like a 2 minute job. I'll sacrifice the small loss of mpg for the by far better looking truck.

I bet they would. Just ask your salesperson if they can help arrange that and have the service department remove it prior to your delivery.

Removing the air dam chin spoiler results in just 0.7 less mpg reduced fuel efficiency. That's the result from TFL's testing on a 2024 Tacoma -- here's the video:



Definitely worth removing the air dam chin spoiler if you like the look without it. That 0.7 MPG reduction is insignificant for most owners, especially they don't like how the air dam looks.

toyota has always made it super easy to remove the air dam across the BoF vehicles.

i mean on our 2016 tacoma it was 8 simple to access screws and it was gone, our 2018 tundra platinum didnt have one, 2023 tundra platinum has a motorized air dam so its way harder to remove and you need a cheat device to fool the computers, otherwise you get a error pop up on the MID screen

If it's not raining the day I go to pick mine up, I might even bring a screw gun with me to take it off in the dealership parking lot before I drive home. It's a 1-1/2hr drive, and I don't want to drive 1 mile with that silly looking chin diaper on my rig lol.
