Looks great! Various owners have painted or powder coated their skid plates. Here's a couple examples -

@Franco can confirm, but this is what I've seen on other Seibon carbon fiber hoods on the 6th gen 4Runner
It is vented / air pass-through. Here's video and photo showing this (from another 4runner build).
