My latest mod - ARB roof rack (like on Trailhunter). Very easy install. Hardest part was removing original roof rails.

Part number: PT989-89251

Total DIY price = $1223 with tax (free shipping)

Tools required :
- 12 mm socket
- Flathead screw driver or panel pry tool (to remove existing roof rack)
- Red Locktite
- 6pack of beer.

Im wondering How's the ride is there less or more wind noise as compared to the factory bars?
I have the ARB Âľ rack. Still working on break-in mileage, so limited time on the Interstate. I haven't noticed any wind noise at all. Rides great!

Wind noise on mine was significant enough that I removed and replaced with the ordinary roof rails.

Looks awesome. I thought it was ARB branded though? No logo on it anywhere?

Also, how did you black out your TRD wheels? The Rave vinyl kit?

Can you share the distance between each bolt? Wondering whether we can make some change and install it on GX460.

Searched the internet a lot, and can't find a good 3/4 roof rack for my gx460.

Can you share where you got the rack for that price? The link on here is to facebook and doesn't seem to work. Thanks!

I installed mine yesterday. Bought during the Labor Day Sale and was able to get additional dealer discount.

As the OP mentioned very straightforward install. One of the rail covers was balky to pull off. Then the next challenge was getting my wife to load and position on the scansions since my neighbor buddy was not around :) On test drive I heard some wind turbulence above 50mph but should get used to it.

ARB makes the rack for Toyota. If you don’t have a Trailhunter, you get one with no brand labels.
I painted the wheels.

@Gordon Schmidt, so the ARB roof rack brand new in box was already assembled?

So after you removed the roof rails and or cross bars, all you had to do was line in the bolt connections with the red loctite and torqued into place?

Thought the rack came in pieces like the aftermarket low profile roof racks.

When you get the chance, please verify. Thanks.

Edit.

Think I got my question answered. Just have to be careful removing the roof rails, alternating between the 2 bolts at each location.

Trying to keep my Runner OEM.
With the current Toyota sale, the ARB roof rack is tempting.

I’ve been thinking about that too. I’ve decided to try the cross bars + deck/platform first. I just don’t feel great about digging in to the sheet metal, sealing, etc. I am sure I can do it… I just want to experiment with it a bit first.

I ordered the cross bars last night ($260 total vs $400 msrp). For the deck/platform I am going to try the “Kuat Dek”. I can’t seem to find anything less wide (sub 47”).
