Wolfbox MV24A 4000A - Jump Starter & Air Compressor - Review

Timing worked out that my old Noco Boost was passed its prime and I needed something new and I have been so pleased with my Wolfbox Airduster that I thought I'd give the Wolfbox Jump Starter & Air Compressor a try. So far, very pleased with the device and it has earned a spot in the rear cargo area, despite already having a built air compressor in my Trailhunter

The device comes with a carrying case for the unit itself and all the needed accessories, along with a full user manual, and quick start guide printed on the back of the device just in case. Bonus, comes with the needed attachments so it can also air up my mountain bike tires if I'm out at a trailhead near the car and run into issues. I also used it to help some stranded road cyclists on the side of the highway that had a sealant blowout and had to throw in a tube but didn't have a great air pump.

I have not needed the battery booster yet and that isn't something I am just going to hook up and test on my hybrid, but I have faith it would work after seeing some independent reviews from places like ProjectFarm on YouTube. Charges via USB-C which is a nice upgrade from my Noco that was still micro-USB. It also has a built in light with 3 different settings in case you need to see what you are doing, or for a flashing safety light if you are stranded on the side of the road.

So far, it also seems to hold a charge quite well just sitting off in the back of the vehicle. I'll see how long I have to go in-between charges, but I am hopeful it will do better than the Noco that needed topping up every couple of months. I will see if I can test the tire inflator head-to-head with the built in compressor on my 4Runner and see how it compares but this also lets me help others on the trail while I can use my built-in to handle my tires to speed things along.

Great little device that had me postpone installing the THunter compressor on my TRD ORP. I've used it to air up from 18 to 35 PSI about 15 times.
Only issue is that it tends to overheat after two or so tires. With typical cool down time on a hot day, 4 tires takes about a half hour. On a cold day Less than 20 minutes. First tire typically takes about 4.5 minutes.

Yeah, these little air compressors are only good for about 1 tire at a time. It's definitely not a good solution for airing up all 4 after airing down.

Agree. The compressor in the TH is a great sales gimmick (worked on me…lol) but at 1.5-2 CFM it really is only good for topping off a tire or inflating floats. I had to learn that the hard way after deflating 4 35” tires down to 15 psi. I have a portable ARB Dual Compressor now and with a max output of 9.18 CFM (6.18 CFM @ 29 psi) it makes short work of getting back up to highway pressure with all 4 tires at once - about 5 minutes and 1 duty cycle. A little on the pricey side but it beats sitting on the side of the road for an hour or so just to get enough air back in to drive to someplace where you can finish the job…lol
