I've been finding oil spots on my paver driveway and never thought to consider it was coming from a brand new vehicle. I found oil dripping down from the weirdest location, front passenger side body panels. I suspect that the drivers side also exhibited the same oil stains on my driveway in the past based on the location and where I park my truck. I usually let the car cool off on the driveway before pulling it into the garage. Initially I thought it was just water from the AC, but it's clearly oil. Could this be undercoating?

who changed the oil the last time? Could it be running over from the skid plate? Is the filter tight? Did they use a new crush washer? Those are my first questions

It's got 1000 miles on. And it isn't leaking from the oil pan. It's leaking from the body panels. And it's mostly clear.

That definitely looks like motor oil, nice and clean with only 1k miles. I would suspect it came this way from the factory with either a failing drain plug gasket or from around the oil filter. What you are seeing is from it being blown around. You could clean everything off and keep an eye on where it might be coming from or better yet take it to the dealer. Good lord, it's brand new.

Check your brake fluid reservoir. That sure looks like hydraulic fluid. it's too clear to be motor oil.

That does seem too clear to be motor oil, even w/ 1000k miles or so. What a frustrating puzzle...Sorry this is happening to you. Keep us posted if you can.

A/C oil? at this point it would not be cooling anymore....

I've considered it might also be brake fluid. Gotta look deeper into it. Going to the dealer next Monday.

At the dealer this morning. Mechanic said it's grease during manufacturing. He's seen grease sling out when ever they remove the body off the frame.

Who knows.

Is anyone surprised? Lol

They did have the truck on a lift and had me come out into the garage to talk about it. I didn't see anything in the center of the vehicle that looked like an oil leak. There was still some oil at the screw in the photo above. I went on a trip and didn't drive the truck for a little over a week and today was the first day I driven it. I'd would have liked to get further info on what type of oil it is, considering it is clear. The brake fluid reservoir was full. My other guess is that it may be AC compressor oil. But wouldn't they have looked at that also?

Interesting, this morning I looked closer at that body seam and sure enough it looks like oil residue caked in. The truck is filthy from a long trip, so the Oil area has collected dirt.
I never had it leak as your initial picture.... since .It looks more like grease ....so the "manufacturing" theory seems more valid...
A mystery nevertheless. Anyone else?

He is absolutely not lying. I just gave mine a look and found some a little farther down, It's something they use at the pinch welds and cavities for rust prevention. No worries actually a good thing.
