Oil pressure gauge problem

The problem I'm seeing is that my oil pressure gauge shows that I have next to none. Before I take this up with dealer/Toyota, wondering if anyone else has seen this.

When I start up everything seems fine as in photo below.

After a short drive the gauge looks like this:

It's a little hard to see in the photo but the pressure has dropped to a tiny tick on the first bar. When I first noticed this it made me pull over on the freeway and check the oil level using the dipstick which was fine. That's after a few minutes. On longer drives the bar is blank as if the sensor can't read any pressure yet I don't get any warning lights. This is on a 26 Trailhunter. Anyone else seen this or know why this is happening?

I noticed the zero/low oil pressure on my Trailhunter, too. I'm guessing the engine shut-off and went to battery mode, if that's a thing.

When the engine stops running, there is no oil pressure, thus the gauge shows no pressure. *Working as intended.

Ahh. That may be it thanks. Will check to see if it's in battery only mode when oil pressure drops.

Your photo shows zero rpm, so yes.
And now I have to look for this since I've not noticed

Normal, but it does freak you out the first time you notice it....

replace one of your side gauges with the ev battery gauge. dont think you need to see the psi of the tires all the time. when the blue bar is active and the rpm is zero, you are on batteries and the oil press will drop to zero.


i put my ev mode gauge on my primary display and just switch to display 2 to check tire psi.

i run this as my primary (mpg stats) and 2nd (psi) and 3rd screen (towing fluid temps and traction)
