In my earlier list before the stereo debacle, I forgot about the Aluminum Skid Plate on the Pro

One big difference that I didn’t see mentioned. ORP can be hybrid or non hybrid while Pro is hybrid only. Many pros and cons between the two.

The way i see it the 6th Gen Pro actually offers a lot more than the ORP. In the 5th Gen the TRD Pro was pointless especially since the ORP on the 5th Gen had most of the appearance upgrades that the pro had.

But a PRO is a luxury you can do 99% of the things in a ORP that you can do in the PRO

I got a Trd Pro because i wanted mudbath and it looks sick. Same reason someone gets a Raptor/TRX/ etc lol

Does anyone actually remove the JBL speaker?
I forgot that was there...

Being plugged in to power at 100% battery capacity every second of every day is sure to kill the speaker's battery quite fast if it's a standard Li-Ion.

Something I asked my salesperson who was clueless: is that speaker part of the system when listening in the vehicle, or is it strictly a storage cubby on the dash for the unused speaker?

Part of the system and mine seems too loud and seems to over power the system. Anyone know if there's some sort of adjustment that I've over looked in settings?

I'm not sure but checked specs online and it says so. I was in it yesterday afternoon and evening and didn't pay attention. I also drove it early on until the Pro arrived. I'll look this coming weekend and report.
I am telling you if it is an off-road premium you get the JBL audio system.

Hello all! I have been wanting to join the 4runner family for a long time now and now in the position to get my first one! I have done a lot of my own research and with what I want from a 4runner I want to get either a TRD ORP or a TRD Pro. I should preface; I may have an opportunity to leave the country in 16-24 months where I would sadly sell my 4runner. So, I was trying to take into consideration resell value on the ORP and Pro. If I got ORP I would put on TRD wheels/tires or something similar like Method. Right now, I'm seeing ORP used for 54-57k that I could potentially get. I have a TRD Pro in underground locally that I got quoted MSRP. If I went with the ORP option I could save about 12-14k depending on the deal. While I absolutely love the Pro additions from the ORP, I'm not entirely sure it's worth that 12-14k increase. Something interesting I'm seeing is the ORPs with 10k+ miles are already dropped quite a lot on price, whereas the used Pros are sitting firm around the MSRP. Yeah, I know it's only been a year or less, just found that interesting! Do you guys think the Pro is worth that additional money or would it just be better to save the 12k+ and go the ORP route. Also taking into account the depreciation or resell value if I needed to in 16-24 months. Thank you for anyone taking the time to read and reply!
Not sure how important this is, but something to consider if you are going to turn around and sell it in less than 2 years…

Production numbers for a Pro are limited. My salesperson told me just 3,000 are made in a given model year. Low supply typically increases demand. Dealers sell every Pro basically before they have left the factory in Japan. So, if you are selling your Pro used, it may draw more interest from prospective buyers than an ORP would.

I was torn initially as I wanted to of course save money up front buying the ORP, but I kept getting faced with the large differences between these 2 rigs. Also, exactly what you said, the resale on these are going to be much higher which may result in less depreciation. I presume, like most higher limited trims, if its left unmodified, skid plates, paint, etc show little or no signs of damage from rock crawling or extreme baja driving haha I bet ill get close to MSRP. I really want to just enjoy the rig as is and I'm so thankful I can buy the Pro.

If I did get the ORP I already made myself a small chore list to get it close to the Pro as I just love the way some pieces look. I enjoy the black TRD wheel setup or I would've done some nice method wheels, I like the silver skid plate in the front from certain angles, the red recovery points are so nice as well. I wont get started on the interior difference as there was nothing I could do there, but all the fun metal silver replaced by black changes the look a lot with the red Pro accents. Funny enough, the one thing I like more on the ORP is the tail lights. Yes the tail lights on the limited, pro, and TH look nice, I love the classic red tail lights. Maybe Ill trade a ORP or get aftermarket down the road haha. I figured this was a swaying decision point, while it doesnt come close to the price gap alone, I wouldnt get that money back on aftermarket parts as I would with the fully stock, in warranty, Pro..

If resale is a priority, picking the trim you’ll do the least mods/aftermarket parts to is the best choice, because mods add very little to resale value and can even hurt it relative to a stock vehicle. That being said, generally speaking higher trims depreciate more that lower trims for the same vehicle so it’s definitely a balancing act

Save your money & find a Sport Premium (SP) if you can. ORP just has a few extra features for Off-Road use. SP can still do light off-road, no issue.

I recently traded my '18 TRD PRO for my '25 LC250. When I purchased the PRO back in '18, it took 6 months to get a black one. I did very little to it other than swap the Bilstiens for Fox suspension that came off my Son's '19 PRO, I purchased a few doo dads for the interior and Installed the TRD CAI when they started offering them on the newer PROs. I did a paint correction, Ceramic coated the paint, wheels and glass. I paid less than $40K new and received more than that on trade for the LC. 3 days later, I had 3 different people call asking about the vehicle, with all telling they were buying it. I logged onto the dealers website and noticed they were asking 46K. Back in '18, PROs were scarce, unlike later in the run where everyone seemed to have one. How can you purchase a vehicle, own it for 7 years and get more on trade than you payed for it new. BTW, I received a handsome discount on the Land Cruiser. I wanted a new one when I purchased my '25 and have been contacted by the dealer inquiring if I would be interested in selling it back to them.

Ultimately most of the differences are either cosmetic or can be fairly easily matched on an ORP with aftermarket (or direct swap, bolt-on OEM parts) upgrades, and especially now that the sway-bar disconnect is optional on the '26 ORP's the only really significant difference between the two is the power mirrors and the dual-zone climate control, so ultimately it becomes a question of whether the climate control is worth ~$5k and a potentially longer wait for delivery to you.

Now, whether the costs to upgrade an ORP into a pro-lite is worth it is a different question, but at least you'd get to pick which parts (and the functionality of those parts) are actually important to you.
