Standard cruise control issues

So my adaptive cruise control works as it should. The standard cruise control does not want to work. Message say cruise control unavailable see owners manual. I cannot find a reason in the manual for it to not work. Anyone else experience this?

that's weird, dynamic needs many more functions to work and go green

standard should just work too.
does the ICON change from dynamic to standard at least ?

white = mode type, but cruise off
green =cruise on

dynamic icon (enabled)

standard icon (enabled)

Yes it change modes but it will not allow me to set speed.

to change between dynamic an constant cruise control you hit the toggle just below "C"

to initially set cc speed, you have to hit "C" button.
to increase to a higher set speed you have to push up on the toggle labeled "+ RES / -"
to set a lower cc speed you have to hit "C" again
if you want raise or lower the set cc speed in slow increments, you hit the "+RES/-" toggle

its completely counterintuitive from the old days and more complex than it needs to be

I assume you know this but as noted above you have to toggle to the “standard” cruise control option BEFORE pressing the cruise control button above the toggle switch. You cannot toggle to standard option after pressing the cruise control button. I see that error message if I try to do so. It is not intuitive.
