Agreed on the Tow mode. You get a similar benefit as sport mode (although maybe not the tightened steering) without the fake engine noise. At least the gearing is sportier. Does anyone know if tow mode also provides some tighter steering? It seems like it would be a benefit you want when actually towing.
I tow regularly with my rig and notice a huge difference in tighter steering when in Tow Mode.

Absolutely not true ! Some of you guys are just spreading false information because you "heard" it somewhere else
Absolutely is true...you can even turn it off. Why are you doubting it? Put it in sport mode and it is obvious. Putting it in sport mode does not magically put a V6 under the hood! Everybody that went to turbo engines in their vehicles do this...it is common knowledge. You been living under a rock?

yeah LOL

ESE is real, and by default, fake engine noise is enabled on any 2025/2026 4runner

engine noise enhancement. it’s always on unless you use a plug in system to turn it off. I have the Carista and turned it off along with a few other things. So worth it
Does turning off the fake engine sound makes it quieter?

Never said ESE wasn`t real. Its not "piped in through the speakers"
Either way you would be incorrect...it is most definitely piped in through the audio system. If it were not you would hear it outside the vehicle, which you do not. Really a quick google search will verify what I am saying.

if not 'piped in thru speakers', then where do you think the
sound comes from ?

ESE comes from the entertainment system speakers.
it is piped in (piped being generic terminology for adding an
audio signal to an existing audio signal, audio summing, mixing,
not literally using some form of hollow pipe)
disable it and it's gone. cabin is quieter without it.

ESE bypasses normal volume mixing, you can't just turn
it up or down, it's either always there, in the background, or disabled

German cars tend to use a vibrating mass that causes reverberations in the windshield, simulating induction noise.

Yeah...my 2013
German cars tend to use a vibrating mass that causes reverberations in the windshield, simulating induction noise.
My 2013 BMW it came through the speakers...you could also use one of those tools to modify the sound to match other BMW engines sounds. You could make your 2 series sound like an M4 if you chose to.
